Hey, Mel

Offer to Mel, in Jan. when the lake is froze an there is snow, how about coming out for a week. Can ice fish all you want, build igloos, practice all that stuff you been talking about. Plenty of wood stacked. Lake stocked, I will stand by with the filet knife ready the filet some nice walleye to fry up. You can chase all the critters you want (Squirrels, racoons an etc) Weather gets too bad, you can stay in the guest house. Give it a thought. Plus people in Spfld. to visit.

I might get up there in Feb. Wife's talking about visiting her family in asia. She aint comfortable being here alone and would not want to use up a week's vacation doing such stuff. J R is going to have to have a quadruple bypass soon (or die) So he might be in need of some company about then, too. I'll think about it and thanks for the offer.

almost everything is still sitting in boxes at the new house. After she puts her stuff out of the way, I"ll have room in the garage to set up my stuff.Right now, I can't find much of anything.

No, it is gone. There is a nice range a couple miles S. of Carlinville on the Shipman blacktop. Kinda across from the orchard.

Charlie Korunka, Benld, he's in the phone book. told me that theres a range south of rt 16, west of Gillespie before you get to the black settlement out there. There used to be one between the shipman/carlinville blacktop and Chesterfield. That old tavern at the RR crossing is how you get there. Go NW at the tavern, towards chesterfield. or go down 111, first road going east, south of Chesterfield goes thru to the shipman blacktop, IIRC. The range was north of the road. Seems like 3-4 miles nw of the tavern/grocery on the blacktop. There used to be a range North of rt 16, just west of Gillespie a few miles, touched Gillespie Lake, IIRC. I THINK Charlie said that that one is gone, tho. Is there still a trap club at Auburn? Is the Lefthanders bullseye club still W of chatham? I cant remember the name of the town? loami, maybe? the club was a few miles west of Loami, then south about a mile, East of the southbound road. There was an indoor 50 ft 22 range somewhere around Virden. Bob Imhoff, of thayer used to shoot rifle there. I think I heard that he's dead. Fishman's still in Girard? There was a gun/hardware store on the W side of rt 4 in virden. Ask around, somebody knows where those ranges are. The Sportsclub guys in Litch probably do, too.
