diabetic on Alone show?

I've been asked which of my 10 items I'd give up in order to accommodate a diabetic going on the show. This guy really wants to win, so much that he's willing to risk his life to do so. They'd never let him on the show if they knew, so he's going to hide his condition from them. He thinks he'll have to have the 2 lbs of hard candy and the chocolate to protect him from low blood sugar. That means giving up the pemmican and one other item. of my 10 picks. The other 9 are the 3 lb block of sea salt, the slingbow, snarewire, fishing kit, 12x12 tarp the rope hammock, the Cold Steel shovel, modified to have 8" of saw edge, the modified Crunch multitool, the duct tape.

The least harmful to give up would be the 12x12 tarp.. You can make a shelter out of the 10x10 tarp that they give you. You'd lose the option of having the half clear and half reflective 12x12, for its ability to keep you warmer by using a fire outside of the clear side of the lean-to. You'd also lose the reflection, of the fire's radiant heat and that of your body. The poncho, leggings, etc, will have to be made out of the 20x20 tarp and have no reflectivity, The effect will be you wont be as warm in the poncho, and if you dont get the needed 2 inche of snow needed for making an igloo, you'll possibly need to heat rocks to bring inside of your tarp lean to.

You'll also only be able to make about half as much netting out of the 20x20 tarp as you would have if the 12x12 was part of your kit.

Obviously Type 2 diabetes, still I am amazed if someone with Type 2 could be found medically competent to compete on the show without the proper medications as part of their kit.

I doubt that the producers test for everything. Many diabetics dont need insulin if they can control their diet. The diet is the problem on the Alone show (for everybody) There's cranberries in a few places and choke cherries, but the only reliable source of carbs on site is cambium and cambium is a huge pita to make digestible. Thus the need to take 2 rations of carbs. The only food you'll likely catch has no carbs, just protein and a bit of fat. It wont be an issue until fall of 2021 at the earliest, , cause I cant get him trained and ready before then. They are shooting season 8 right NOW.

they let a gal with MS on the show, twice. she made it 54 days on season 3, I think it was, but fell out in a week on season 5. Her name is Nicole Apelian and she has a website, supposedly all about using medicinal plants. I've heard that the winner of season 1 has divorced his wife in order to shack up with Nicole.
