Self Isolation and Self Distancing

What is everyone doing during this time period? Personally I'm catching up with my reloading for matches. I'm pretty sure my wife now has match ammunition for the next 2 years, depending when matches are re-instated.

Been casting a lot. 9mm, 38spl 150 gr. 357 160 gr. 44, 45 LC. most are sized, doing 9mm now. Want 3 coffee cans of each. A few (lots) loaded. Found another tool head for Star press last week, this one in 44 mag. Now have presses for 38spl. 9mm, an a press that will load 45acp. 45 Colt, 44Mag. just by changing tool heads, about a 2 minute job since I don't have to change primer size. All other calibers get loaded on a Lee turret.
Picked up another Sig last week, a 2022 with 7 mags, I really needed another 9mm.
Snowing today! 3 to 5 in. So it will be awhile before can head out to the range with the virus an the weather. Lot of crazy **** going on in town, glad I am out here in the country.

Processing more .223 and .300winmag brass.
But damn my reloading area is getting cramped. And so are my hands; I think my old press handle needs updating. It's just a rubber coated one dating back to 1980 or so.
Thinking of removing the rubber coating and installing a wood or plastic ball on the end.

IF we ever have matches or an economy again. Be lucky if you dont have to shoot people with every round of ammo you have, a few months from now. The Fed reserve is going to own a helluva lot of the corporations by then. They'll own all the airlines this month.

No. I have enough ammo to shoot everyone in the county five times, but still no. Mad Max isn't going to happen.

Why do you say that?

I'm sitting on plenty of ammo, with the exception of my hunting rounds. I probably have a couple hundred .280 and maybe a hundred .338 loaded, with components to crank out a few hundred more of each, if needed.

Got plenty of .223, .308, .300 blk, 9mm, .45, .22lr

I think he believes a bailout will be the same as a buyout.

I completely quit shooting steel-cased .223 several years ago, and considered this weekend selling off what I have on hand (just 2-3 cases left I think), but our LGS has good stock in hand and is limiting purchases to two boxes, so I'm just going to hold off selling for now.

Don't plan on shooting my neighbors with it, though.

(If it comes down to shooting people, they'll probably get the good stuff... )

Have a problem with the steel cased, John? I've shot a lot through my commie guns with no problems. AK's and SKS's mostly, but 9 Makarov and Tokarev in 9X19 also.

In 762x39 and 9x18 I’m okay with it. In 223 I gave it up due to the deep chamber cleaning necessary on AR’s after using it, in order to keep the same gun reliable with brass cased stuff afterward.

Not a critical thing, just enough of a hassle that I don’t use it in AR’s anymore.
