NONE of air force, or Navy is, and they are a HUGE chunk of military, not many of Army are, either. There's lots of Marines who are cooks, mechanics, etc, ya know. shtf, the military bases will be SWARMING with politicians, celebrities, and the wealthy, all wanting "protection from the rabble". Most of the military won't have a CLUE how to provide it, either. Even if they WANTED to do so. Women and kids crawliing all over the place. :-) Lots of fires, sniping, sabotage, etc, all over the country, military aint going to be able to do crap about it, either. |

At least in the Army and Marines, they go through basic and advanced infantry training which gives them the basics. You are making a big mistake in slighting our military. Not even you can know what will happen on the military bases when shtf. Pure speculation. Another silly post. RIKA |

GK, human nature, the nature of professional military forces, the resources of the FedGov, and historical precedent indicate that your ideas are in a state of severe miscalculation and error. Basically, you're trying to wish into being a certain, rapid scenario which is about 105% unlikely, but would allow you to take out your anger against people in general and conveniently empty society more to your liking. |

Also, don't forget the adage that every Marine is a rifleman first. Everyone in the Army goes through the same basic training and the same (sh*tty) yearly quals. Any idiot can pull guard duty while the frontline soldiers do their job. You should know that.

The first responsibilty of a soldier is top "kill people, and break things" and a MOS is what You do in the meantime. The more I can teach my troops the happier I am with them, and as a NCO it is my responsibility to teach them the best I can. Right now I am in the Air Force reserves, but I also have 5.5yrs in the USAR, 4yrs USA, and 6yrs USN, so I bring a wide knowledge base to the table and DO NOT SELL US SHORT, the signs that authorize lethal force arent all bluffs.

that Basic training bs doesn't wash. There's a whopping 150,000 Marines, many of whom can barely tie their shoes. :-) Last edited by Rich Z; 07-21-2004 at 12:45 AM. Reason: Derogatory comments removed. |

I suspect he has contemp for the Marines (I'm not one either BTW) because somewhere along the way, one of their women beat his @ss. Which would also explain why he hates women and has to drag them down whenever he can.

Apparently MELVIN, has never heard of the DELTA force. Entirely an Air Force operation. Your last paragraph is probably dead on the mark. Bill | |
