Neat. If only the shotgun's shells weren't so bulky... The 12-gauge's biggest downfall imo is the same as some of the bigger-caliber rifles; just the reduced capacity and increased weight. I still prefer an AR carbine, but a 12-gauge can be very capable. If "all" I had for a defensive longarm was something like the mossberg 930, I wouldn't be terrified about it. |

A lot depends on where you live. In an apartment or suburbia, I would worry about over penetration with a .223 AR. A shotgun would seem better for that kind of situation. That one Garand posted looks pretty capable.
