react to the timer's beep, settle in to shoot a rifle from high ready, safety engaged, finger outside of the trigger guard hitting a chest at 5 yds 4x, move to the head, hit it 2x, move 3 ft to the right, hit the 2nd torso in the chest 2x, then move 6 ft over and hit a third torso's chest 2x. The 3rd torso is on the other side of the center one, which you shot first, 6x. Total of 10 shots. Let me know if and when you get it under 2.2 seconds. That's how long it takes her coach to do it. Miculek is on record, on yt as doing so in 1.58 seconds. The 2 stage RRA NM trigger job on his AR is slowing her coach down by the .20 second, I think. 2.0 seconds is quite impressive, but a helluva long ways from 1.6 seconds. After you've wasted $500 on .30C ammo, admit you'll never even come close.

Wonder if "Wifey" is aware of the fact that if she has a firearm anywhere around a felon she could be in big trouble, no matter what Mel says.

You could demonstrate for us; that would be interesting, since you brought it up. | |

"You know Melvin, you really are a clueless idiot, aren't you? " That about sums it up! |

I call BS on what her "coach" can do, unless we can see video of the event! Personally I'm looking forward to start practicing with my .30 Carbine in the spring. Unfortunately it is what it is and hopefully the courts will get this crap sorted out soon. In the mean time I ordered another 1,000 cast lead 100 grain bullets .309" this morning. Melvin they only cost $140.00 plus $25.00 shipping. I should be able to start spring practicing on the run.

Sigh, sounds like Melvin is working on getting his wanger in a wringer again. Sooner or later he's gonna piss off someone in his area and get a dime dropped on him. Or, one of the alphabet boys that I know probably ghost websites like this from time to time will get bored and need a bust. Not too difficult to connect the dots a basic internet search using his full name and area that he's given as public info. If I can you think an LEO with public records access can't? And again you JMD are posting about being a felon in possession and or with access to firearms on a public forum. You ever think in that addled head of yours that of all the hundreds of hits this site gets a day that one or two ain't the Gunkid- Fan Club but are representatives of your old Club Fed Vacation and Incarceration Resort instead? |

I realized I’d never timed myself on the .30C, so figured I’d give it a shot; but on a limited basis largely due to ammo reasons. The .30C is one of the calibers I don’t reload, and with things as crazy as they are in the market right now, I just did a single three-round reaction drill. From low ready, chamber loaded, safety on, with standard 110-grain ammo. Mine has the rotating safety, not the earlier (and probably faster) crossbolt version. From the beep, three C-zone hits at 14-15 yards. Times were .66 to the first shot, 0.19 to the second, and .17 to the third. That’s three hits in 0.36 seconds from first shot to last. I still prefer the AR, but being an over-the-hill non-professional, I can totally live with that. Thanks, John; you helped me re-validate (to myself at least) the appropriateness of the .30C as an absolutely valid short- to medium-range defensive gun. ![]() {edited to correct target info. Was a C zone target, not an A zone.} Last edited by John in AR; 12-06-2020 at 07:27 PM. |

Couldn't resist. Our boy flat out called me a liar (among other adjectives) when I said I routinely practice at 25 yards with a Glock 21. Can't be done said he. That's pretty much point blank with a M-1 Carbine.

Fwiw, I made a mistake in my post above. It’s C zone target, not A zone. I’ll edit to correct.

Yeah I can't understand his thinking except he's not thinking past his own shortcomings.

Was hoping for a response from Boati regarding the times I listed above, but no luck. Just another one-post sermon posing as a thread, and no actual participation in his own topic.
