Colt LE6920 are back

Colt is re-releasing the LE6920 for civilian sale. A spokesperson said it was never intended to suspend civilian sales permanently, just until contracts for the rifle were filled. New price tag $1800.00. I paid $1200.00, but that was years ago. I'm sure the mad scramble for AR's had nothing to do with it.

It’ll probably be a big seller. I hope they don’t monkey with it the way they did the Python; selling a lesser gun with the same name.

I don't need one.

Got three different AR variants and have no need for a basic entry level AR(no matter the quality) at that ridiculous price point.

I could build a very fine rifle, maybe two, for $1800 bucks.
gripper and Dorobuta like this.

I think that $1800.00 was a "First Blush". I see then advertised for $1500.00. Still high. I have three Colt AR's and am pleased with all three. I know I paid too much for the last one, but again it's a Colt.

Nothing wrong with them just the price points are too high. Considering mfg cost a +/- $1200 price point would be livable and understandable.

I've had in the past 4 Colt rifles. The last was a 6920 two 6400C's and an AR-15A2. Zero troubles with them.
My habitual trading swapping etc is why I don't have them.
If my next builds weren't coming up I'd buy one. But too many irons in the fire. Got several bolt action projects to finish or clear out.
This societal mess plus covid is making a train wreck of some of my plans.
Freaking Hobbes public range being shut down indefinitely is making me drive 2x the distance to go shooting. Gas going back up ain't helping either.
Next up a twin upper and single lower AR-10 build. 18-20" bbl .308win/6.5 CM uppers and maybe a carbine also dunno yet.
