Looks like a range trip is in my near future
I picked up a Vortex Strike eagle in 1-6, with a .223/.308 reticle. Got it at a gun show in VA over Christmas.
I put it on my Sig 716, moved the Leupold firedot from the 716 to my .300 blackout.
I took the 3x scope from the black out and moved it to a sig in .223, and removed the cheap red dot from it.
the red dot currently needs a home. (I think it will go on the pistol I'm building)
so, now I have three rifles that need to be sighted in...
good problems to have.:)
Curious for updates after you've run it a bit. I'm considering swapping out the red dot on my 22LR AR rifle for a low-power variable, although probably not for as expensive a scope as the Strike Eagle is.

This was the cheaper model - I think I paid $300-ish for it. (not that 300 is cheap, just that they also have a $1K model too) Came with some cheap rings, that I will eventually replace. (gun show special, last day of show)
The Primary Arms variables get decent reviews, though I've never owned one. I'd consider one of them for a .22, or one of the Vortex models.
Vortex has a lifetime warranty. I don't know about the Primary Arms scopes...
Me too, I pick up my Christmas present to myself this coming Saturday. Next week we get back to our retired guys Wednesday weekly indoor range practice before we head out for lunch and a couple of wobley pops to swap lies!
