I know very little about the 6.5 Creedmoor, but iirc it would have to be in the bigger AR10 platform. And that kills magazine logistics, creates LBE issues, etc. For replacing the 7.62x51, I can see it as a very good thing. For replacing the 5.56x45, doesn't seem real practical for bulk-troop issue imo; at least in the near future. |

I'm kind of scratching my head over this. Not objecting to it but from what I recall SOCOM had been using the round over a decade ago in real world testing but then dropped it in favor of the 5.56NATO 77gr. load, MK 262 iirc? It would be nice if they finally made up their minds. I also imagine their may be a metric crap ton of 5.56 brass and ammunition out in the general small arms market . Plus a 6.8SPC upper sometime in my future. For the military I'd love to see an FN SCAR platform variant in 6.8SPC |

One thing that I noticed while I was still in uniform was the fact that there was less and less money every year in my units budget for small arms ammunition. Never any money after all the "sexy" electronic gear was bought.
