Wow - down to 2.8 cents, including shipping. Would be a very good idea to stock up if anyone is short right now. Post-election worries aside, this is a very good price regardless. https://armslocker.com/gun-deals/670...de-sh2713.html |

Fwiw, Remington Thunderbolt is down to just 2.6 cents, from at least two different vendors: ![]() https://www.classicfirearms.com/remi...00-round-case/ https://www.outdoorlimited.com/rimfi...f-5000-rounds/ |

Cheap doesn't always mean good, Having owned a number of .22's through the years I found that a number were very selective about the ammo they digested flawlessly. No use buying ammo, if it won't run your guns.

Not perfect stuff, but I can live with it for a lot of things. The best all-around I've found is mini-mags - they've run literally 100% in every gun I've tried them in, including the conversion kit; and being plated, they're better for suppressed use than the thunderbolts. Second only to the mini-mags (in my guns at least) has been Federal's GameShok copper-plated round nose; load #710 or 810. They're the same load; the 710 is the cardboard 50-pack and the 810 is the 100-round plastic package. They're usually cheaper than mini-mags, but functionally run 100% in every gun I've tried them except the Advantage Arms glock conversion; and even in that they run 97%, so they're very good for the price. They're not high-precision target loads, but for my purposes of ringing steel, they're more accurate than necessary. Definitely agree with you though; rimfires are notoriously finicky. That's why I have a spreadsheet showing details of which guns like which round; it's the nerd in me showing itself... ![]() | |

When I bought my Kimber .22 Conversion kit for my Colt Gov't Model, I ran around the city and bought 20-22 different varieties of .22 to chrono. The goal was to find which ones were capable at taking down steel "B" zone plates and steel "gophers" at 20 yds. I only found 2 that would give me the velocity required and work flawlessly in the gun. Stingers and Velociters were the winners.

I just got an email that www.targetsportsusa.com has minimags for 4.8 cents per round after a mail-in rebate; your choice of either RN or HP.. That’s a very good price on a VERY good load.
