I guess nobody knows much about these well built pistols since Taurus bought out the rights to manufacture and then discontinued them to produce their own line of 44's.Anyone that owns a Rossi Model 720 is quite pleased and before I laid down my money had a S&W 44 to compare. The ROSSI 720 was better built and had a rock solid lockup compared to the S&W 44 Special Which for a more costly sum of money should have been threw in the scrap heap.My opinion,"sometimes you pay for a name and not quality",I'll find my own handloads!!! ![]() ![]() |

ok, ok 7.5 grains of 700x and a 240 grain semi-wadcutter. start at 6.5 grains and work up. it should yield about 850 to 900 fps. use a standard lp primer.

I run 180 Grain Hornaday XTP,or SIERRA 180 GR.JHC Power Jacket.MY pistol powders are Unique,2400,H110,LILGUNS.I save the 240 Grain for my Dan Wesson 744V 44 Magnum with 8" barrel for heavy bullets,it dose'nt make a good carry gun ,as the ROSSI 3" 44Special,It can handle +P loads probaly hotter than Taurus. Thanks anyway. ![]() Last edited by Dakoma; 05-23-2008 at 01:16 PM. load it with unique, the slower powders will be a waste of powder. just follow your loading manuals loads and you'll do just fine.
