Question Nosler Balistic VS Hornday V-Max .223????

I am looking at reloading some .223 for prarie dogs and was wondering about these two bullets they are about the same price. I was wondering if any of you have had better luck with one or the other? I want to shoot around 300-400 yds and I was aslo wondering if the 55 Gr would be a good choice for that range out of my DPMS 1-9 twist?
Thank you very much look forward to your replies!

my personal choice for the ranges you are talking about would be either hornydays 52gr or 53 gr flat base or boat tail match bullets. will work good for your application at those ranges. just a thought.

For the range you are talking, the 52s might have some problems with wind and are running out of steam at about 300 yards. You might want to consider a heavier bullet in the 68-75 grain area.

on paper I have gotten better results with Nosler than Hornady. In my 270 Win.

The only thing I could add is that I have killed 4 deer in 4 years, on 2 of the years I used Sierra and on 2 Nosler, in both times I used Nosler the bullets come apart in the animal, in both cases with the Sierra it expand perfectly.
I have never hunted with the Hornady's.
