The cost of ammo is freaking me out too. Thats the reason I started buying ammo by the case when it was cheaper some time back. Also getting into reloading heavily and bought some more molds for casting my own bullets. Now I gotta get in gear and find some wheelweights. Gotta stock up on extra powder and primers too.

Brass i think your right??????

Rika i've been doing that for a while now. just think how much it will cost in a couple of years.

Rich Z 08-14-2007 12:21 AM

Kind of an odd thought to think that all that ammo I bought years back might have been a solid investment. I doubt you can even FIND much of the .50BMG ammo I bought back then.

Anyone offering to sell the Raufoss rounds anywhere? What price? What about Israeli API and APIT?

brass hammer 08-14-2007 09:37 PM

Be advised Friends. A VERY good source has told me Factory ammunition is scheduled to increase again after September 1. Also, since Wal-Mart has ditched firearms, expect to see a country-wide increase in factory firearms in all sporting goods stores. This includes Cabellas and the other "Chain Stores".

brass hammer 08-16-2007 10:27 PM

kinda' 'tweeks' a persons 'trigger-puller' fer' NOT jumpin'/buyin' a 'turk-mauser'

those 'boys @ J-G sales/prescot' WERE THE 'FUN' GUYS!!![5-10 years ago]

Gunfixr 08-16-2007 10:43 PM

Yes, I have seen the letters from all the major manufacturers that ammo prices are indeed going up Sept. 1. Most are going up 12 to 25 percent, and one has gone so far to say they are going up again Jan. 1 12 percent across the board.

brass hammer 08-20-2007 08:20 PM

hey,GANG! did ya'll catch on the "drudge" the other day? about the "ammo shortage/back-orders for police depts. around the nation."

pretty 'wordy/lengthy' but INSIGHTFUL![hell,I'm thinking 'iffin' NEW-RECRUIT L.E.O's would HAVE TO PAY FOR the TRAINING AMMUNITION they FIRED, they would BECOME MUCH BETTER/FASTER SHOOTERS!!!,,,IN 'short-order', and just a small percentage a month held-out of thier PAY-CHECKS.]

[brass hammer, adendum[] I've got to 'pay' for my own D.O.T.physical every 'other' year!!!,,, and the STATE HAS NO PROBLEM WITH THAT!!!AS THATS WHAT I'VE CHOSEN TO DO FOR A 'pay-check' ,,,,in thier VIEW.]
