762x54 question because i cant find burdan primers if any one has a source please post and brass being so exspencive .is it posable to drill the primerpocket to take a shotgun primer relizing i would have to recess the outer edge of the pocket to allow for the outer ring of the shot gun primer is it posable to use ? i would probably use light to moderate loads and maybe use them for sub sonic in a mn. can it be done ? :hot: |
It would be simpler to remove the Berdan primer, remove the anvil in the case and center tap a small hole for conversion to Boxer primed. Better yet, why not just get boxer primed cases? Google "old western scrounger" and give him a call. He has a lot of contacts that might turn up a decent source for boxer primed 7.62x54r Mike |

saw an artical somewhere and i can't remember where, that a guy was reloading 7.62x39, by drilling out the berdane primers while making a flash hole for boxer primers. so it mite work i don't know what size the lr berdane primers are though. if the primer cup is a little small it can be sweged to accomadate the boxer primers. if its larger then your out of luck, youl need berdane primers to reload with. |
