I've planned to stockpile ammo, but I just shoot faster than I reload! I think it's be advisable to have about 5,000 per gun, minimum. It really doesn't take long to use 500 rounds. I do it in one session of aimed fire-with single action revolvers! It goes considerably faster with autos, as I watch for deals on magazines. (I have 9 for my Sig 220)

well a couple of friends of mine that owe me a few bucks and a couple of favors, are in the process of wrapping up all of my surplus ammo. there using a food saver and desacant to seal it up, for the long hall. seems that my source in the military has dried up, he retired last month. so no more free ammo, or ammo cans. there cleaning the ammo before they package it and put it back in the can. it now should last for ever in sealed containers. no humidity or other airborne crap can get to it. there also going to seal up some of my collector guns while there at it, had them do the lugers first. they took the grips off sealed them in a seperat bag with desacant, then put the grips in with the pistol, some gun oil and sealed the whole shee-bang up air-tight. ![]() |

Congratulations! You've just broadcast on the internet that you've been stealing from the government and conspiring to steal. Wanna just go ahead and post your address, so they can come get you? I'm sure they won't be afraid to, since you're bagging up all your guns.

"he retired last month"- "so no more free ammo, or ammo cans" if ya got it "years ago" what does him retiring last month have to do with anything?? Sounds like you don't like having your stones busted , but ya said what ya said...... |

hopefully, this won't degrade any further into a full-on pissing match. Personally, I'll take NeolithicHunter at his word and leave it at that. If the rest of you want to throw stones - have at it, but at least move it to the rubber room. My take is simple, I see two low-post newcomers giving grief to someone who's been on this board a lot longer than they have. Right or wrong, you're accusing someone who has a lot of history and goodwill with the other members of this board. Not exactly the kind of thing that brings acceptance. Even if you are right, you're still wrong, if you know what I mean. Just accept you choose not to believe him, or accept what he claims and move on. He isn't in anyone's face on this one way or another, so no worries - -right? |

I am also asking everyone here to chill out. And if you don't like someone's posting style there's the ignore feature as well. |

As usual, post counts mean nothing to anyone except for the person with a big number. Kinda like the worthless jerks around here in the aircraft union who will fake a stroke if they're asked to do something before the guy next to them with 2 days less seniority. If you'd care to read between the lines, you'd see that what I was doing was to point out to this person that he's setting himself up for unwanted attention from law enforcement personnel. My last comment was simply a jab at his juvenile kicking and screaming fit when he realised what he'd done. As for me being juvenile, ......bite me! ![]()

Post counts are meaningless, except in illustrating longevity. Does a high post count mean you're an expert? nope. Does it mean you're an idiot? nope. Does it mean that people on this board have some history with you? Yep. Right now, I don't know you from Adam, and likewise, you don't know anything about me. All you know about me is what you can read from my posts. (hmm, maybe there is some meaning to the number of posts after all?) All I know about you, is based on your posts. Not enough there for me to know much, one way or another. (again, illustrating that the number of posts does have some meaning, just that the number itself is meaningless.) I was more concerned with this gaining a life of its own and turning out to be bad for everyone. You could be 100% correct in everything you have surmised. If the new guy walks up and points out that someone in the group is being dishonest, people will take exception. Even if the person IS being dishonest. Neighbors tend to look out for one another, at least where I come from. Many of us have been here long enough to think of each other as neighbors. If I'm coming across as a jerk, condescending, angry, whatever - that was not my intent. I know it's easy to read stuff into a post that wasn't there. I've done that more than once and probably will continue to do so on a regular basis. so, let us move on and discuss stuff we came here to discuss! |

HUH? Did that make sense when you typed it? You use more words to say nothing than anyone I've ever met.

But, to say that the number itself means anything, like 101 posts vs 99 posts, means what? nothing. It is a perfectly sensible statement. also, I could use few words, but be open to people mistaking my meaning. You can have the last word - I'm done with this one.

Spurrit. please chill a little. Its beginning to look like you are trying to stir trouble. Don't be so argumentative/defensive and we can all get along. RIKA |

As long as the man came by the ammo legally, it is no ones business. One person can shoot at best only two guns at a time, so what is the difference if he has 10,000,000 rounds, he paid for them.
