Think my Sig is complete now

I think I've done everything to this rifle that I'm going to do - - at least for now....

And the suppressor isn't disposable. That's a problem, too...

I didn't catch that it was 7.62; I assumed 5.56 without really looking at it in detail. One more reason to not cut the barrel shorter.

Friend of mine a year ago got a dealer-sample HK 51B; a pistol-size version of the belt fed, select fire .308 machine gun. Seemed all kinds of silly to me. Take a relatively expensive to shoot, full-blown rifle caliber & then neuter it with a short barrel and hang a belt off the side so it's even harder for one person to use. I can't see any situation where that would be advantageous. Even in a fixed position - even in a cramped fixed position like shooting from inside a tank or apc or something - there would still be much better options. Unless it's designed specifically for short-barrel use (like the .300BK), almost all rifle calibers simply due much better out of rifle length barrels.

This is the same guy who told me last night that he's started carrying an integrally-suppressed B&T APC-SD9 with 'a bandolier of magazines' in his vehicle recently. That seems a bit much to me as well. He's a good guy, but tends to overkill on the gun side of things. I (and most of us) already have guns that are more capable than we are, so anything 'more' is usually a wasted investment.

{edit - also just noticed in the pic the size 10M shoe box. I envy you that. There's literally not a place within an hour drive where I can buy a pair of shoes or boots. God truly has a sense of humor... }

That’s why I was questioning Boati on why the barrel should be shorter. I have ARs with shorter barrels, and. 300blk pistol.

There’s zero reason to shorten a .308....
