1st 223 can I made was nearly 2 lbs, RUINED

the fast handling of the CAR. It was all steel, had numerous errors that needed correcting. 2nd one was aluminum, weighed under a lb, 3 rd one got it down really well, weighed only 3/4 lb,was 9" long. coupled with a 10" barreled CAR, the result was a wonderously effective little gun, easy to always have slung, at hand. 8 lbs, canned, scoped, and loaded with 20 rds. :-) If a 30-30 carbine held 10 rds, it would weigh the same, with no scope, and guys "think' a 30-30 is "handy". :-)

Garand,
There it goes again! Are you sure you didn't hear something?--Maybe it's just the wind, or it might be the geese farting...
