got bored, solved a minor problem...
Got bored, decided to address one of those minor annoyances when wearing a pack with a hunting rifle:
namely the sling siding off the shoulder.
So I spent a couple minutes in Fusion 360, whipped out a simple design and then printed a few of these:
They fit in 1" webbing and are designed to help stop the rifle sling from sliding off the shoulder - especially when hiking over rough terrain where you need both hands.
I made them on my 3-D printer, they're currently done in a plastic called PLA, and they seem to be holding up. I've put them on all my hunting packs and have given out a bunch for people to test. If necessary, I'll do them in ABS or PETG.
they are made to be minimalist yet functional. PM me if you want to try one out, I'll mail you one.
you place them as high up pm the shoulder as possible. They do a reasonable job, and don't interfere with unslinging the rifle deliberately. If there's enough interest, maybe I'll sell them for a buck each...but for now, I'm looking for feedback and suggestions based on use.
