Seriously, convict? Fwiw, as I've told you before, I'm also an ex-convict; got out nearly 40 years ago. I just learned decades ago that the direction my life takes is up to me. I made my choices in the 70's and they took me where I eventually ended up; which was behind bars, in a concrete room with a door that I didn't have a key to. Fortunately, I started making logical choices and ended up in a much better place. One day a couple years later I got lucky when (in minor trouble) I got called into a colonel's office, and he made a simple comment about life being like a checking account - you can only get out of it what you put into it. It was a simple comment and just spoken off-the-cuff; not like he was imparting any big revelation. But for whatever reason, it took root in my brain and gradually made a massive difference in pretty much every aspect of life.

You've made your choices and they have taken you where you are as well. If you continue on the same path, you'll continue to get to the same places. Only by intentionally turning the steering wheel do we change the view out of the windshield. Your choice. Even at nearly 70 years old, you still have time to make your life a much better place - one where the people around you actually care and will help you. But it's a real simple concept - you have to decide to quit being a laughingstock and accept the concept of actually learn new things. Or you can continue clutching your imaginary toys and pushing away anything good or productive. Just bear in mind that pushing away the good and productive leaves only the bad and the destitute.

Excellent post and very true. I could have very easily took the wrong road. You have life choices only you can make. Blaming others is self defeating and a lie to yourself. "They stole 20 years from me." "They" didn't steal anything. Melvin chose to throw it away. His anger towards everyone is showing he's still not accepting he's responsible.

I'm still stuck on the fact that the same guy, same day, claims that only one specific load has enough penetration; then claims that everything has too much penetration.

Must be one of those multiverse things, that can only be explained in eleven dimensions or something.

I like several loadings between the 124 and 147 grain weight range... usually loaded on the warm side, although there's a few standard pressure loads that I use as well.
Expansion is important to me, but it's secondary-I focus on reliability, decent accuracy from bad breath range to the 15-25 yard spread.
Weight retention in expanding loads is a good thing IMHO since it lends itself well to various clothing and other barrier issues.
Honestly I'm hating the ammo shortage because EVERYTHING is priced up. So , my preference for certain Hardcast FP and other" outdoorsman loads" whenever I am not carrying for work would be a spendy thing if I hadn't stocked on ball loadings that shoot to the same point of impact for practice (on those days when I can actually get to the range).

I fear that for those that didn't think ahead, the ammo shortage could cause problems. Except for Melvin, I have yet to hear about a shortage of airsoft supplies.
