starting hand in pocket, reliable chest hit at arm's length, airsoft, to react, draw and hit. I have yet to find a gas repeater that's small enough for pocket carry. So I use a spring gun. It's just barely loud enough to stop the timer, tho. Since my reaction time is .20 second, if I start first, the mugger gets at most.40 second to react, decide what to do, and move his arm over to where I've side-stepped. It can't be done. .15 second more lets me get both hands on the gun at an eye-level point, adequate for a reliable chest hit at 10 ft. He MIGHT be able to get off one wild shot before I hit him. |

for the under the t Shirt draw, .90 second for a reaction, draw and reliable hit on the chest at 10 ft seems to be the best I can average from under a t shirt, after a few warmup draws. For a "cold" one time trial, I'd not bet on a time much under 1.0 second. Still, that's world-class speed from concealment under a shirt.

“.55 second, warmed up”... Then you talk about what you’ll do to “the mugger”, as if this is reality. So in your scenario and planning, a mugger will let you warm up. Got it. |

not being warmed up slows down my hand in pocket draw just .05 second. It's still twice as fast as you can manage from under a shirt. :-)
