GK's wifey is unaware of the cocked SA controversy

re safety of carry, forgetting to manipulate the safety. She just carries the P938, and that's that. She's considerably better with it than Janelle Cooper ever was with a .38 snub, too. That's all that Jeff could ever get her to carry. GK gets some static from her about some things, but for shooting and gun advice, she knows who's what. He did a bit of demo in her home country, with a glock of all things. The cop who was overseeing the range removed the mag of jhps, from his duty sidearm, installed a mag of reloads, gave them another box of 50 and had some kid scrounging the brass. Disarmed himself while on duty! He caught most of them in the air, even. When you go really fast, the Glock's trigger and safety 'tit" are quite different from the match grade 1911 trigger pull, so some missing occurred at 10 yds, on a half size silohuette, but the 2 second Bill drill (on her phone "timere" ) impressed her no end. Since everyone else needed the same 2 seconds to get a draw and ONE hit . Gk's having missed twice didnt matter, since 4 hits are obviously better than one.

there was a Japanese yakusa guy a few yds further down the range, and the cop did the same thing for him and his bevy of women. The gangbanger let one of them shoot and she turned around with the glock, sweeping the muzzle across all of them (and gk and wifey, too.) GK was with some guys shooting an AR without hearing protection, while under an awning, yet. They offered her one try, and he insisted that she have ear protection, despite all of them poopooing the need for such. None of them could reliably hit a soda can at a mere 25 yds with it, even from braced standing. She got it, tho.:-)

Things like repeatedly referring to himself in the third person under a pseudonym..?

no, when GK comes out around her, it's cause things have gotten to the point where she knows damned well she'd better straighten her ass out.

So GK is a separate, distinct personality living in JMDs head..?

Seriously John; please give up the juvenile playground-bully posturing. After exposing yourself so many times publicly, you dont have the depth of personality to pull it off. If youd simply be civil and calm, we could actually have some good conversations.

In a defensive shooting situation, there are two reasons that misses matter; and you're only considering one of them. A missed shot is certainly a bad thing because it means a round expended that doesn't accomplish what we want it to - ie, impacting and degrading the bad guy.

But an equally bad thing about a missed shot is that in reality, every shot is actually a "hit". The problem is that if it doesn't hit what we meant it to, it hit something else instead. In a defensive situation such as an active shooter in a mall or church or wherever), the bullet that misses its intended target absolutely hits something or someone in that crowd, and that someone or something could be little Suzy Jenkins or the gas line in Sbarro Pizza in the food court.

When I used to teach young people to shoot, my standard line was, "There is no such thing as 'a miss'. The bullet either hit the right thing or it hit the wrong thing." Misses certainly do matter, for more than one reason.

cops certainly dont worry about such things, the way that they splatter lead around. Normally, you're gonna miss the entire man with about half of your shots, , when you're being shot at, if the range is more than about 5 yds. That's just a reflection of the pucker factor, the blasts when you have no ear protection, and target-movement, your movement, bad light, etc. Range skills matter some, but not all that much. Just as important is your focus on killing the sob, and your willingness to die trying, if need be.

Stopping the bad guy (not necessarily killing him) is secondary in importance to NOT increasing the number of dead innocents by killing little Suzy Jenkins and her mom in the process. "First, do no harm" is not just a medical principle, it should be a life principle.
