I have a lot of 9 mm's, and EDC a P-01 in warm weather, but I would feel pretty naked with one in Bear country. This guy was cool, and placed his shots well, still very, very, lucky. If not wanting to carry one of the hand cannon's, I would choose a .357 with a six inch barrel.

Wow... I'm gonna have to paste that in a regional gun forum I belong to. The subject of "Whats best for... (insert: bears, mountain lions, wolves) defense?" comes up pretty regularly.

I still don't think I'd go into known bear country with only a 9mm tho.

Awhile back old Mel thought the pocket 9mm was the best thing for hunting in Africa!

That reminds me of Blain aka Mr.Shotgun on the old Patriot Network forums.

He thought the same regarding a 12ga for everything under the Sun and even under ground with his hollow earth reptoids theory .
.
He's also the dude that that would use a caution symbol icon for nearly every freaking post.

Imagine him and Melvin on the same forum at once.

Don't know whatever happened to Blain, maybe the reptoids ate him.

Most of Blain's stuff sounded like he had been smoking crack or something while watching reruns of the original V sci-fi show. I just remember it because it was so entertaining to read.

He was for the most part more polite than Melvin and based most of his weapon choices on the hollow earth reptoids being harder to kill. I remember 12ga., .308Win. and .44magnum maybe .45win mag or something from Wildey Arms being his picks.
Maybe he just grew out of that nonsense who knows.
It was funny to go to the main forum there and read the debates over which brand of tinfoil would keep out the mind control rays the best.
Mostly I kept to the firearms and related sub forums there.
