for wifey. Just a LOT more shooting of the few that she's got. :-) Like 10x as much. In different areas, so she doesn't wear out her welcome, so to speak.

Even if you had that much money, still could not have ANY guns.

If by 'clearing' you mean take-home, that's very good; well above the national average.

Too many guns can be an actual thing imo, although a lot of guys would reflexively call it heresy. Only reason I'd want another one is if something came along that was either objectively better for a particular application (ie, changing from the glock 26 to the Kahr CM9 a few years ago); or just more fun like the undeniably unnecessary .22 rifle I got last year.

But the "oh cool, another gun" stage of my 20's & 30's is long past.

I have a lot I really don't need. The C&R bug hit me hard, but it was a god investment if I ever decide to sell. I really don't look for anymore, although I did pick up that CZ 97 fairly recently. I'm practicing more with the one's I carry and having fun with the Mossberg lever and .22 Quiet ammunition on my daily hike's. 0MM is so cheap now I find myself burning a lot of that up, but in the same gun's. I looked hard at the CZ 9MM EVO, but I still can't see lugging a relatively heavy 9MM around when I have two Colt Carbines in .223 and an SKS "Paratrooper" in 7.62X39MM.

The Evo has really taken off like gangbusters, but other than simply a fun plaything, I don't see much of a real role. I really like pistol-caliber carbines, but the Evo barrel isn't long enough to get the ballistic bump that a true PCC does. Basically you get the power of a pistol, in a package nearly the size of a carbine.

Again, could be hugely fun to play with, but that'd be the only use I'd personally have for it.

I've been downsizing the last 3 years, other than the guns I compete with, I rarely find time to shoot the others.

Huh. I was thinking about it, and I only own one gun I don't load for and compete with.

I guess I should sell it, but I won it.

Well John, glad you are employed and making a good salary. Hope you and your missus are fine and happy.

Well Garand, I've never downsized my passel of guns yet I shoot only about maybe five of 'em. Most are collector guns now. Glock 26/43 and J frame shot most.

But I do have my handy Security Six beside me now. It's my hiking gun. It's carried often but shot little (184gr LBT slugs with a hefty charge of Unique.)

Now that I'm retired, my wife and I do a lot more travelling so I just found that I was tired of moving the guns I leave behind to a friends place anytime we travel for a couple of weeks for a match.

After my wife (now EX) cleared out my stash (not just guns, but two rollaways worth of hand tools, compressor, spray equipment, EVERYTHING) I've been in a rebuilding phase. I've got some stuff that I definitely don't need, but have a hard time getting rid of.
I still want more guns, but I need to focus on what's important and useful now.
Earlier this year a friend offered me 1000 rds of .357 ammo... of COURSE I took it! Then went looking for something to shoot it out of... ended up w a .357 Blackhawk, a 686, and a Cimarron Thunderer.

Yep... almost $1500 worth of hardware to justify a $200 case of freebie ammo.

I can be a real dumazz at times. I should really quit that sh*t.

I aint, actually, other than self-employed, renting out rooms in our house. The 60k includes the 20k that she brings home. They are messing her over badly, $600 a month for insurance, and a 401 k required contribution.

Insurance is crazy expensive since the 'affordable' care act. Our premiums for four people are over $2200 per month.

That said, it's a good investment in today's world. Since my wife's cancer diagnosis, her prescriptions run right at $3000 per week, for the past nine months. We'd have been hurtling toward bankruptcy if not for good medical insurance.
