Looks like an interesting concept. Wading through the puff and fluff actual shooters test's look good. I ordered a couple boxes from Cabela's in 9MM. I'll post the results of shooting it.
This round is wussy-loaded by at least 200 fps. only one wound track. The Split Nose 9x21 or 356TSW combo is quite superior and you can make it your self.
Remington, SuperVel and Corbon have offered 90 gr jhp's at over 1500 fps for decades. not sure, due to design, if regular jhp's are longer/take up more powder space, but the big, conical base cavity of the Split nose design is a huge advantage. So is the AP performance, 2 wound tracks and Mach II temp cavity damage/shock of the Split Nose design. $1 per shot is a ridiculous price for something that is stamped out like this Ruger bullet. Hand-made Split Noses are just $100 for 50 bullets. Reload them yourself.
I never SAID that they CURRENTLY offered anything. Learn to READ, dumbass. Corbon still does, tho. Remington might, but I never liked their jhp design. the corbon and all 90 gr jhp's are marginally reliable feeding designs in a lot of autopistols, which is why I favor the marginally slower, 100 gr PowRBall load
This new ammo MIGHT be a step in the correct direction (ie, faster and lighter, sub 10" of penetration) but it's one small step, when several huge strides are called for. Dunno why glaser, Magsafe, Rhino, etc "thought" tiny birdshot pellets are desirable? even the 3 segment Quik shok means small frags in .36 bores. I went with 2 segments, just for ease of home experimentation and then discovered that such are about the smallest frags (in 9mm bore) that can be relied upon (at 2200 + fps) to give adequate penetration in critters (ie, 8" or more).
