and hollowbasing the solid copper hp bullet in your drill will allow you to add more Bullseye powder (safely) then you can shoot some Kevlar and critters and see that I'm correct about the 356 and 3" barrel. it outperforms 5" barrels and 230 gr jhp's, all day long. given that you can have your hand on your gun (in the front pants pocket rig) draw, go to eye level and 2 handed point (ie, reliable chest hit at 10 ft) in .50 second (not including .20 second reaction time) and do so as you side step, that lets you "beat the drop" of a man holding a gun on you. You can wait to see if a situation DOES require the presentation of your pistol. the 1/4-1/2 second slower belt gun offers no such advantage When you realize that most attackers have no gun, that you almost never have to HIT more than one attacker (to make the others flee) and that the ranges will be sub 10 ft, nearly always, you see that accepting the handicaps of a belt gun makes no sense.

Starline doesn't offer 356 anymore, but they DO make 9x21, which is the same thing, altho not straightwalled and not quite as tough brass. you can also shorten the 9mm winmag case, or this one

I would never bother with this in a belt gun. it's done to maximize power in a POCKET gun. I capitalize things cause people who can't READ are always skipping over important parts of my posts. If i was going to lug around a belt gun, it'd be chambered for 460 Rowland, 70 grs at 2300 fps, 750 ft lbs and bigger chunks of copper. (as vs the pocket gun in 356TSW

1) You never know the actual trajectory of someone holding a gun on you unless you have been chilling in that situation for a minute. How did you get in that situation? What are you doing?

Sidestep, seriously? A bit of wrist motion and you're tagged, intentional or not. Bad trigger discipline could whack you even if they were totally oblivious to what you were doing. There are other CQC tactics for that situation.

2) Kevlar? Who even issues that anymore. It's all Dyneema or similar, and all IIIA or better. Even my typical shooting belt has enough Dyneema to stop a .454 with margin to spare, sure I'd shatter something but regardless we'd share floorspace together.

3) They're all handgun rounds. Even rifle rounds don't give one-shot-stops. It's all about taking life support systems offline. If you're fighting for even 500 more ft lbs you need to spend more time shooting.

so who said anyhing about shooting once? who said anything about shooting if he's within arm's reach. have you ever TIMED how long it takes to "just flick your wrist"? .20 second, minimum. he also has to react .20 second AND decide, .20 second more. What shoots thru 24 layers of kevlar will shoot thru any other soft armor, so what's your point. obvious, you only attempt such a thing if you think he's going to shoot anyway, or if you're GK, armored and really po'd at the punk. 223 softpoints, good ones DO deliver one shot stops, 98% of the time. the shock and damage is just overwhelming, in nearly all cases. a .460 rowland CAN get into M4 performance category, 60 grs at 2400 fps, 5" barrel. so, no, one does not need a .454 to get the same type of performance, stop repeating garbage you read somewhere else and start CHECKING what EYE tell you and you'll be way ahead of the game.

I can sidestep in .40 second, easily, a full 18". I only have to move 6" to have his shot be off of my torso, so wer'e talking less than .20 second to make him miss. yes, he MIGHT get lucky and hit you and he PROBABLy will miss you if you just stand there, out of surprise and your blasts upsetting him. VERY few people expect to be suddenly draw down upon and shot-at. if he DID expect that, he'd have shot you already. I can make this work on YOU, wih airsoft, no problem, at 10 ft, and you'll know that I'm gonna do SOMETHING, but you won't know which way I'm moving.

Actually, I have a .400 CorBon barrel not only for my Series '70, but for my Colt Combat Commander also! I can provide pictures, if you need them?
