it's really stupid to have DAO, DASA, revolver

Glock, SA auto's, etc. PICK one and become a grand master with it, instead of just being half assed with 5 types. If you dont even OWN any other type, there is no chance whatsoever that you will need to know the other types.

ditto, of course, pumps, levers, bolts and autos. There's just nothing that the manual types do ENOUGH better than autos to justify giving up the many advantages of the auto rifle.

since there's no DA longarms, it doesn' make sense to teach yourself to not manipulate a safety on your sidearm why complicate what might well be a lifesaving thing? Do you want 8 types/locations of foot pedal on your car's brakes? it's retarded.

Sounds like someone is jealous that he can't have the selection that most of us do. So what kind of guns can you buy illegally from your local biker bar these days?

I don't break balls regarding " limited selection " - whether it's myself or others. That said, I don't necessarily agree with the OP. I just don't feel the need to insult or gloat over someone else's circumstances.
Don't think you too can get " tagged as prohibited ") justifiably or otherwise)?? ??? All it takes is the wrong circumstances at the right time.
JMD here is not someone I'm going to for eloquent communication lessons. Yeah,he shoots from the lip,and gets some things wrong semi regular. As do most of us.
I just don't feel the need to insult unless I'm returning the favor.

Point taken, sarcasm turned off. The nice thing about having "simpler" firearms like revolvers is that if the "balloon goes up" and you all of a sudden have relatives or close friends showing up on the doorstep with minimal firearms experience. You can arm them and give them basic instruction in a very short period with firearms that are not going to waste a lot of ammunition based on minimal marksmanship skills.

And these are my thoughts as well....Hell,I once considered doing the " Pallet of Mosin Nagant Rifles" deals, back in the day, just to e able to arm my ( trusted) neighbors.....and then,my Kafkaesque legal. Administrative situation with the State began....so I don't casually gloat or insult.

I thought this way long before there was any problem with cops or money. I had a dozen guns, several times in my life, but it always came down to shooting only 3-4, so why bother with the others? gold coins are much more portable and much easier to sell, if you need the money, guns are horrible investments/ no real liquidity if you have $3000 in some guns that retail for $500 and ask 3 FFls what they will offer you for them, cash, the top offer will be $2000

It makes far more sense to be HIGHLY skilled with "just" the M4 and P938 than it does to be half assed with a dozen makes and models. If all one owns is the little sigs and an M4, there is ZERO chance that he will need to be skilled with anything else.

And that is where we differ gun kid, I believe in the versatility and flexibility of owning multiple styles of firearms, which somewhere down the line could benefit me due to evolving circumstances at the time. Where you prepare for only 1 very narrowly thought out scenario, in my opinion.

Something I've learned is that to actually so-called "master" a tool, you have to understand the biomechanics and mindset involved.

Once you "get it" it applies to everything. In terms of guns there are platform specific concerns and tweaks, but it's just the same shiz marginally remixed. Knowing the patterns of that is easily worth more than a pallet of rounds sent downrange from a lacking paradigm.

I found this this again this morning, I seen it a few years back, it does show how effective that someone can be with multiple natures of handguns.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCSySuemiHU

Also gun kid, some of us just don't like plastic!

I know for a fact that a master of DA is not a master of the cocked and locked SA, cause I've seen Jim Cirillo horse-up an el prez really badly with a 1911 and I don't mean the mag swap. All of us reared on 1911's know that a fair amount of "retraining" is necessary to shoot as well (as swiftly) with DA or Glock (if we ever do, that is).

the point is, WHY BOTHER with other action types, when the SA auto suffices (and is easiest to do well with)? There's a reason why there's never been a DA autorifle. :)the reason is that when you're truly serious, NO handicap (and that's what DA IS) is acceptable.

You've seen Jim Cirillo Huh? That's funny, when asked what he looked like you stated "Yeah, Jim's a little guy." I trained under Jim Cirillo at FLETC back in the day. He was 6'2 and about 230 lbs. Another fable by the famous Gunkid.

A very close friend of mine was fervently working on DAO practice, using a Kahr CM 9, but dumped it the instant the Sig P938 got the bugs worked out of it. :) He had more practice than most with Smith DA revolvers, so he was not at a loss for DA training, but most of his DA work had been with the left hand. He is naturally left handed, but shoots 1911's right handed, cause ambi safeties did not yet exist back when he was working on speed of draw, etc, with 1911's. the little Sig fits right into his philosophy about pocket carry, SA autos, etc.
