I have alway's been somewhat leery of .22 conversion kit's. The Atchisson on the M-16 malfunctioned consistently. The kit's I saw on the 1911's were inconsistent and accuracy was poor. And I'll never forget being flamed for my suggesting that the Bulgarian $200.00 Makarov .22 adapter looked and was, a piece of crap. Anyway, since I fell for the CZ line, the adaptor kit that would fit on most 75 frames intrigued me. Research gave rave reviews, still...Long story short I bought the Kadet II kit. I fitted it to my CZ 75b frame first, then fired about 70 rounds. The first round from the 10 round magazine needed a bump to sea it in the chamber. After three magazines the problem went away. I then switched to my 75D PCR frame. You have to use the slide lock that comes with the PCR, not the Kadet one because the frame is narrower. 150 rounds later and I'm sold. Accuracy was on par or a little better than my Ruger MKII 6 7/8" barrel target. It ain't cheap, but if you like the CZ 75, you'll love this kit.
Frankly I love my .22 Conversion kits, long gone are the days where friends/acquaintances asked my to put on a "dog & pony" show where I brought out 12-15 firearms covering 10 different calibers and sucked up the cost of the ammunition. These days all I will bring out is 5 guns, a single action revolver in .38 spl, a double action revolver in .38 spl, a lever action carbine in .38 spl, my Colt Government Model with the Kimber .22 conversion kit and my AR 15 with the CMMG (Echo) conversion kit. Everyone now gets to shoot a whole bunch and I'm not forking out a lot of cash or time reloading ammunition expended. I've had close friends who swear by the CZ, but I'm just a 1911 kind of guy.
Yeah, Garand, I still like my Colt Series 70. But I moved on to the Glock 21 and the CZ75 series for everyday carry. How was that Kimber kit to install? Give you any functioning problems that you had to address? I'm a mechanical illiterate, so I was lucky the Kadet kit was so easy.
Dead simple, even gunkid could do it! Move original slide to rear, remove slide locking lever, move original slide forward. Grasp new conversion kit slide, push onto frame, install slide locking lever, allow slide to move forward.
I originally tested the pistol with 14/15 different types of .22, basically every type I could find available locally. As the manual states it prefers hyper velocity ammo like Velociter & Stinger. Using stingers I've taken down 10" high steel "gophers" at 65 yards.
I put it on the PCR frame. A really small amount of fitting. I shot it off the 75b and the PO-1 frames also. I used the PCR frame 'cause I was using that the least. The PCR frame is a bit wider, hence the filing.
you ****ing twit. you learned about .22 units from ME. Once you learn the real score, you'll dump the manually cycled guns completely, and get a pocket 9 with a .22 unit. There's really no point in wasting all the time and money on the other stuff.
Don't think so gunkid! Buying any firearm is a good thing as long as you shoot it regularly and enjoy it. That way you don't become a "1 trick pony", like some people we know!
