I had a Taurus PT1911 for awhile. It was ok................didn't care for the hammer lock and the grip screws weren't standard! It shot ok but I traded it for something else!
Farm supply has Filipino made 1911's, with almost all the bells and whistles, for $400, guys. That's one helluva deal. I'll be getting a 9mm Combat commander model for the new wifey. i don't want to beat up the P938 with all the rds she'll need to fire in order to be a world class shottist.
Funny, my wifes favourite 9mm is my Colt Combat Commander, lets see pictures of yours! Uploaded at Snapagogo.com There is mine, ignore the 1916 Colt Commercial Model, I sold that.
They are pretty decent for the money, I knew one guy who had a .45ACP one and I have a friend who bought a 9mm model for his wife. In reference to the Filipino made pistols.
I have a close friend who purchased a Taurus in 9mm a few years back and had constant problems with the sights coming off. Based on his experience I've stayed away from them.
if you don't know enough to get a beavertail, speed safety and better sights on it, it might as well be a $350 Star BM. Those little stars aint a bad gun, and for the money, they are quite excellent. Colt can go jump. They're going under as a company anyway In 2006, I shot a guys P111, it had a butter smooth DA pull, but it needed the mainspring shimmed up, cause it misfired frequently. No big deal, that can be done in 15 minutes
My wife likes it as it is, she has tried my Colt Combat Commander in .45 and does not like it as well. What she like in guns, she gets, that's why she shoots on a regular schedule. Least I don't need my wife to protect me like some here!
