making, fitting M21 Beretta extractor

was no big deal.Once you pin down the popup barrel, to maximize accuracy, you have to have an extractor and with .22 ammo today being so unreliable, being without a way to pull a rd or a fired casing out of the chamber is a no-no on a potentially tactical-use weapon. With the added metal of the cap on the slide, there's room to pivot and pin an extactor, as well as dove-tail in a real rer sight. Since the rectangluar can had to be buried and the front sight was mounted on the can, the threads on the barrel and inside of the can had to be case- hardened. This required that a steel adapter be threaded into the aluminum rear plug of the silencer.and that the steel/aluminum threads be loctited

If i had it to do over again, Since I've learned a few things, I'd make the can just 2.5" long, for an OAL of just 8". Same as a commander with a Duck-tail grip safety tang. I can make it quiet enough for its intended purpose. for game, use the slide-lock, and for people, there's as much ejection port pop as a shorter can has muzzle signature, given the WD-40 and water in the can, the screen wrap in the sleeve and in the underchamber. At an 8" OAl, behind the hip carry is no longer necessary and sitting down with the canned .22 in the small of the back is not something that will cripple you. :-)

with enough practice, i can probably react, draw the silenced .22 from under a t shirt and reliably hit the brain at 6 ft in 1.0 second, starting from hands at sides. Be a really nice surprise for some antifa thugs some day. Brain a couple of them before they can turn, and a couple more before they can get more than a few feet away.then gut/spine shoot a few more as they try to get out of range.

when you bend the trigger to a more acute curve, eliminating the trigger over-travel, the DA trigger option is gone, too, cause the trigger can't move backwards far enough to release the hammer on the DA stroke. Which is fine with me, but requires an extension to be added to the thumb safety lever. At one point in time, I had the only SA-only M21 in existence. :-) The one extra rd of the Taurus PT22 mag is nice to have and the pinky finger extension on the bottom of the mag helps to properly position the hand during a really fast ccw draw. At 10 ft, with no noise, it's pretty easy to keep .22' in the 4" brain circle at .20 second per shot. So a failure to stop is pretty unlikely.A .22 in the face will beat pepper spray, every time! you can always either swap mags and tack their heads to the floor, or brain them with their own skateboards.
