for you and have no idea what they've done. :-) They can machine true ends on the tubes, weld in the end plugs (0r the washers in the ends of the piston that's used to compress the screenwire into baffle "donuts".) YOu can do this yourself with a torch, if you make the can out of steel tubing, but if you want it to be lw, you need somebody who can REALLY weld aluminum. You'll find him in a shop by the airport.

so who cares about buying an illegal can if either they have no reason to have one or can buy one legally?

"no idea what they've done." Sure sounds illegal to me.

Of course it is, per the opening post itself:

To "build" a can requires either building under a license and labeling it with the manufacturer's name and a unique serial number, or filing individual-manufactured fed paperwork (Form 4, iirc).

So if you get them to do it in a way that they "have no idea what they've done" as in the OP, they obviously they never filed any paperwork or labeled it with class 3 mfr info and serial number.

So yes, John. What you're describing is illegal.

Well I will comment on the fact that BATF doesn't have a problem with authorizing me to bring 30 firearms into the US when I want to travel in the US. Melvin can you do that?

Any machine shop would know instantly what that thing was going to be. Maybe you can find some shady outfit to do it but is the risk worth it to YOU? This is 2016, the BATF is not Barney Fife today like you think they are. One of these days you will have another nice taxpayer funded vacation.
You really need to sit down for five minutes with a clear mind an not even think about any kind of gun an decide on a new lifestyle an new hobbies before it is too late. John, I have known you for many years, heard all your wild ideas an schemes, have they worked out like you wanted? You are in your 60s now an have a family, so for their sake grow up.

+1. There's a lot of fulfilling, enjoyable, and profitable non-gun-related things out there. I'm one of those people that REALLY enjoys shooting & gun stuff, but it's not the "best" thing in the world. Certainly not the only thing.

Even for us middle-class, low-brow rednecks, there's a lot of good stuff to be had in this great country of ours. A lot of things that aren't financially profitable can still be hugely profitable from a quality-of-life perspective.

I've got no problem with suppressors; I have three now and my fourth is just waiting on paperwork, already have got to play with it.

I do have a problem with always finding a scumbaggy way of doing something that doesn't need to be scumbaggy.

It is really starting to appear that Melvin, is daring "Big Brother" to put him back behind bars where he is warm and comfy, well fed and can blame the rest of the world for all his problems without taking any responsibility for his own stupid actions that have brought him to wear he is today. Is the responsibility of marriage starting to be too much for you Melvin?
