if you know how to smith them, the Stars are pretty good guns and the Sigs and several other locked breech 380's and pocket 9mm's are just slightly modified versions of the Star designs. 200 ft lb loads are quite "iffy" as to stopping effect, but 500 ft lbs can be had in a controlable pocket auto. If that load also gives you 2 wound tracks per hit, your pocket gun offers 90+% stopping effect, same as a 4" 357 with 125 gr jhp's. 10 failures in 100 chest hits is a lot better than 40 such failures, which is what 380's, .38's and 9x18 show. 4x better performance with the 9x21 Split nose, as well as AP, and the Mach II effect. That is a quantum leap in pocket pistol performance, and it came from one man. You're welcome. :-)

The star pistols are largely under-rated imo. I never really liked the Firestar just due to weight, but their PD, BM, etc, were all very good guns.
