US gold bullion coins>than guns as stores of value

most people dont want ANY gun, lots more dont want more guns than they have, many more dont want the guns you're selling and a lot more dont want them used, or to buy them from a private seller, afraid that they are connected to some crime, etc. You can 't just sell them on facebook, craigslist or ebay as you can gold coins, guns are big trouble if you try to travel with them and they are not nearly as concealable/portable as any coin.

So gun collecting, like any collecting, is based upon the "greater-fool" theory. I dont bother with fools, so I'm only interested in guns for which I have a direct use.

The last time a new gun got me interested, it was the Sig P938 and that was several years ago already. The time before that it was the Armscor .22 1911, almost a decade ago. and before that it was 1985, the M21 Beretta. When I see that a new offering is double stack, or DA or has a glock type trigger "safety", I just pass it by, cause I know that the trigger pull sucks and that if I improve on it enough to matter, doing so makes it unsafe to ccw.

I can have more fun in a 50x30 dirt range, with a timer, than with any size of gun collection. I like to shoot it, not look at it or talk about it. Without a timer, a trip to the range is a waste of time for me. I know That I can get the hits, if I take all day. The issue is, can i get the hits faster than everyone else? I know that I can score on a hunt, using scope rifle and a braced/rest from which to fire. Wtf can't do that? 6 year old boys do it, all over youtube.

How many, however, have scored a deer with a pocket 9mm? or taken squirrels in the park with a pocket .22? :-) or brained an elk with a shorty 223 AR? A LOT fewer than ever made black belt. A lot fewer than ever shot in a world level shooting match, too. we're headed for civil war in the US, and/'or monetary collapse, and soon, too. When it occurs, and the system crashes, guys are going to find out what stocks, bonds, real-estate, bitcoin and gun collections are REALLY worth. :-)

I know that no shotgun amounts to a hoot, nor does any manually operated gun of any type. This reduces the time and money spent on such crap to a bare minimum, leaving lots of same for actual skill-building with the real-deal guns. when you dont confuse your synapses with different 'feels", modes of operation, sights, trigger pulls, safety, bolt lock mag release, etc locations, you wont be "un-doing" your primary training.

This 007 "I might need to fire somebody else's gun" "justifcation" for owning lots of different gun-types is a crock. Why aint you got YOUR gun (and YOUR backup gun, and world class skill withi it, hmm? THAT you have some control over. Expecting to have somebody else's gun, with which to save the day, "in the nick of time" with your half-assed 'skill" with it is a crock, frankly. Gun-collecting just giving-in to status-seeking thru conspicuous consumption, of expensive items for which you have no need at all. and with which you have very little ability, other than slowfire plinking of tin cans, which any kid can do with a BB gun or slingshot. Trophy male hunting of animals is just a sort of back-door, wannabe bragging competition with other males, cause you know that you suck at direct competition with them, for women or money or skill level at anything else.

The reason you value long range, powerful loads and rapidfire are all related to combat. If you're not going to fight, then such things can be done with airguns, muzzleloaders, BB guns and bows. They are all the same fantasy bs.

You have many times recommended the idea of resupplying via a dead enemy's ammo, magazines, etc; which is your biggest stated reason for our gun's absolute need to be in "the military caliber".

You've claimed for years that resupplying from a dead foe's magazine pouch to feed my gun is a rational and even necessary consideration.

And here you claim that resupplying from their actual weapons is unrealistic James Bond fantasy. Got it.

Fwiw, for more than 99% of Americans, including us 'gun nuts' on this forum, they're BOTH unrealistic James Bond fantasy. Neither has happened in your almost 70 years on this earth, yet you believe it absolutely must come to pass. (Hopefully before your 80th birthday I presume...?)

the times i've pointed guns at people or dogs were not fantasy, garand, Nor were the times when I needed a gun and didn't have one. Nor will the times in the future when I do so, and those times are coming soon, too. harris will shove-aside biden within 90 days, just watch. She's a worse racist, commie and tyrant than Obama ever thought of being and that's saying a LOT. They fully intend to destroy the US and our republic.

right now, guns are selling faster and better than gold. I can easily sell guns from my collection for a handsome profit. Likewise from my ammo. I have more than enough ammo set aside where I could make several thousand in profit if I wanted to. I don't

gold will have value to some, but if SHTF, it will be nearly worthless, unless the problem is extremely localized to a single country or state. If the world goes sideways, food, medicine, guns, and ammo with be worth far more than gold ever will be.

if he is replying to something, he is in the wrong thread. If he is just randomly typing whatever pops into his head, he is still in the wrong thread.

Why does Garand scare him so much that he has to always try and find a way to get at him?

I don't know; sometimes he thinks I'm TerryG, too.

We're probably all just jumbled up together in the spaghetti bowl that is his brain, all in the category of 'people that call him on stupid and dangerous statements'.

Remember, he has only one brain cell left up there, or maybe just 1/2 of it left.
