May have some movement on a buyer for the business. Can't go into details but our broker met with an interested party today. Hope it works out; I'd honestly consider most any semi-decent offer in order to free up some time to spend with my wife while we can. I can always go back to work afterward if necessary.

If we get it sold while she can still get around, we plan to spend as much time as we can on cruise ships for the foreseeable future. Sun & margaritas for her, podcasts & cigars for me; that's living...

Good luck with it. My retirement was early due to age limits, but truthfully, I had enough and never looked back. Marriage relations improved considerably with the stress removed and keeping normal hours. I have never been bored and there is much more to do without work getting in the way! Best to you John. I hope iy works out well for you and your Wife.

Got the last of the ceiling I-beams cleaned & protected this weekend. These are in a storage space, not the house proper. They've been out of the weather for over a year now, but had some surface rust starting on them; so went ahead & cleaned them with ospho and painted with an oil-based rust blocking paint.

Also received another UVC purifying element, this one for the storm cellar air intake. My wife's more sensitive to allergens & pollutants than she used to be, and this UVC element in combination with the good particulate filtration should help with that. May get it installed tonight, or may be a bum and just watch TV. With our weather being cold & gray right now, we probably won't be using that intake unit in the next few days anyway.

I got my scope back from Leupold last week Thursday l darn near rebuilt it.
Sad to say pretty sorry condition for a new scope that cost me nearly 2 grand. They replaced the erector and cleaned up the inside and readjusted the parallax. So it just wasn't gunk on one of the internal lenses. It's a VX-6HD 4-24X52 I had just bought pre covid 19 along with a .300WM Remington Milspec II only similar rifle to the Remington Sendero Special I used to have.
Well I had some troubles with a wondering zero and since everything was new it took awhile to narrow it down to the scope. Final deal was slapping on a proven Leupold MKAR 3-9x and dialing it right in. And at the same time noticing 2 smudges on what was one of the inside lenses one above the other in the lower left quarter of the field of view when the scope was on 4x. So I sent it off to Leupold after calling them.
I'll be honest that call didn't make me happy. One the Idgit on the line said he didn't think it's a problem if it's only visible on 4x....groan. And no return shipping label...yeah on a new scope I paid close to 2k on lifetime warranty or not..
I hope they did a good job and it works this time.
Only trouble I ever had from a Leupold scope in around 30 years of using them.

Good that they (apparently) took care of it. I like Leupold's lifetime warranty and it was part of why I was comfortable buying a used one as a gift for my son one time, but I've never had to use it.

I use their lower end stuff; never tried their top tier scopes like that one.

Spent the week building some .38 Spl for the weekly indoor range practice this winter. Started the refinishing of an M1 Carbine stock. Washed and scrubbed it down with "Krud Kleaner" 4 days in a row, yesterday spent about 2 hours with sandpaper trying to get rid of some of the larger "dents" and put on the first coat of Tung Oil. More coatings to follow.

The other ones I have are the Mk AR line I have 4 of those. I've had 3 different Vari-X III scopes and a Vari-X II Oh and by gosh forgot the VX-II Tactical.
And this top end one gives me trouble.
Well it is 2020 so go figure.

Also to add: I'm working on the production prototype, if you could call something hand produced that, of Sasquatch Sling Company's DMR(Designated Marksman Rifle Sling.
Will be available in Black, OD Green and Flat Dark Earth/Coyote Poo Brown.
All USA/Western Nation Materials nothing Rooskie or Chi-commie.

Let a family member try out some guns on Saturday. This is one of my wife's bajillion cousins, but she's in the minority that I consider actual 'family' rather than just a relative. Like a lot of people nowadays she's thinking about buying a gun, and asked my opinion on several different ones. I suggested that rather than buying one now when choices are very limited and prices are stupid high, that she come to our house & try out a few first.

She's looking for something small enough to carry, so we tried the LCP, Glock 43, Kahr PM9 and Taurus 450C. The 450C is an odd choice, but it's my wife's house gun and my wife likes it enough that she recommended her cousin try it out. Before shooting any of them, she was leaning seriously toward the LCP because of its lighter weight and lower power, but by the time she'd shot all of them some, she found she preferred the G43. Her husband was working that day & didn't come with her, so I sent the gun, holster (to act as a case, more than anything), a couple magazines & some ammo home with her to let him check it out as well. He's not a rabid gun guy, but somewhat of one, and is more than competent to handle it, so I wasn't worried about that.

Haven't heard back from them yet. I told her that if they both liked it after using it some, to keep it until at least after the election when things either settle down or boil over. It was my edc gun until recently changing to a higher-capacity gun, so I'm not going to miss it; at least for a while.

I trotted out my cold weather hiking clothing as the temperatures are now in the 30's and 40's. I started carrying my Ruger Vaquero in .45 Colt and the new S&W .22 Compact as a change of pace for hiking. I still have several Pheasant hunt's planned, and some Duck jump shooting. We voted early. We we're the only one's at the polling place which is at the Volunteer Fire Department garage. Yeah, we're rural. We went with my Son's Family to a Pumpkin patch with rides for the Kid's and free pumpkins. All outdoors, we were all masked and people stayed their distance. Good Time.

Got the .300WM zeroed at 100yds with the Leupold scope back on it.
Way behind the curve on it. Have no confirmed dope on it other than what ballistic data Hornady listed for the 225gr ELDM bullets
Been working on getting some more brass processed and loaded into loaded ammo with what other components I have in hand.
