started her on a Daisy for the longarms

damned things have a safety on them these days! :-) The sight is a bit more robust, but harder to see on dark targets. Naturally, they still stack into the same hole at 5 yds. The bb's are zinc plated, copper being too expensive to use so wantonly, i suppose. She was aghast at my ability to use either hand, shooting it like a pistol, to toss up a soda can and hit it in midair. Once you learn how to do the toss properly, such a mark is dead easy. Bob Mundin used to do it with a slingshot, the hard way. I'd do it by letting go of the fork, holding the rock in the pouch, tossing the can with the hand that would grab the slingshot fork. Bob would hold onto the fork, toss the can, put a marble in the pouch and then hit the can in midair. THAT aint easy.

That's sad, but to be expected I guess nowadays. We're a nation awash in lawyers.

you can't mash your fingers by pulling the trigger with the lever "open" anymore, either. I doubt that's an improvement. Kids are being deprived of vital life lessons all over the place. Trigger pull on that thing really sucked, too. She just focuses on the sights and keeps building pressure, stacked those BB's on top of each other at 10 ft, even from offhand. Amazing woman.

she takes the wierdest firing positions, but shoots outstanding groups anyway. She takes coaching from me pretty well, as long as I don't harp on stuff. With the shooting, she's left eye dominant and right handed, so I'm having her try either hand, and we'll later we'll sort out which she should favor. Unlike US women, at least she recognizes that she doesn't know anything about these subjects (driving, shooting, karate) and that I DO, and that I"m a good teacher. I mostly just try to help her not use ways that tire her out quickly, and stop any sort of potentially dangerous behaviors. Someday, after I"m gone, some multi-millionaire belt fed owner is going get very lucky, finding a wife who's interested and skilled.

Go around to some garage sales, pick up a couple old clocks with pendulms, get rid of the housing or whatever around around it, let her shoot it while moving. Don't shoot the clock! I see battery or wind up ones all the time for a buck or so.Will last long time with bb, hey, airsoft might be better. Some have longer arc then others so look around.

She needs more practice at snap shooting, and before that, more "grounding" in offhand. The trigger pull on that bb gun is twice as bad as a glock, must be 1.2" of total movement.
