ATF's gun examiner said my smg's were

"crude. but they work". :-) I only had a little Atlas 6" lathe, a pos drill press, a torch, benchgrinder, dremel and hand tools. Each one of the silenced 9mm's took me about 50 hours to make.

I never got to shoot them much, but I was able to get several hits per burst on a drum at 25 yds or so. I never got to fire them at ALL without the silencer in place. I used one, with one arm, to "write" my initials in a wall, once. :-) The silencer and low cyclic rate (10 shots per second) made them very controlable.

I had no inclination to buff them up nor a way to blue them, so I just primed them and painted them black. They made it onto a TV show with an ATF agent. Since ATF had bought half of the ones I made, giving me $2500, 10k in today's money and waiting 2 weeks to raid the place where I was. I had left within one minute of getting the money, having had my stuff all moved the night before, at 1 am. they brought a chopper, swat team, and dog team, had everything except John or any evidence. I sprayed the place down with WD40 and even took the log chunks that I test fired down into.
