(about 1980)I hit an owl at about 30 yds, using a 1911 colt .22 unit, I thought it was a helluva shot, given the moving boat, given. a solid chest hit and the gun not grouping better than about 2" at that range. But Joe was upset about the bird. :-) He hadn't seen what I was about to shoot.

yes, to see if I could hit it. for over 4 decades, I saw nearly everything as being a target, noting angles, ranges, cover I could get to, braced positions I could take, etc. Dunno when, why, or how that changed but it did (sorta) unless something has made GK predominant. When THAT occurs, things get MUCH worse than it ever was back in the day. GK starts plotting on how to get clear of the area, dispose of the body, etc.
