no enemy, can go to 28 lbs of gear for BOB

instead of the AR. 22 unit scope, silencer, pistol, armor, nvd goggles, 14 lbs worth of stuff, just a silenced 6" barreled Marlin Papoose, with a Lexan forend, day glow on the iron sights, a see thru mount and a 7/8" scope (2x7 variable) preferably and a lb of .22lr high speeds. Mostly hp's, but some solids for head shots at deer, small calves, dogs, sheep, pigs. Stuff you can just carry off whole. No enemy threat means you can carry a bit less water, a lot more food, move around more, worry a lot less, have a fire, semi-permanent, bush-built shelter, carry more gear, as in soap, bug dope, gillnets, hooks and line, snares, and thus, be able to sustain yourself a lot longer. Just what the kids here fantasize about. :-) except they just GOTTA be able to take elk at 1/4 mile.

anyone who's looked at elk habits much, they move roughly on the same circuit of their home territory. it's a bit different in winter than in summer, if in the mountains. But it IS a circuit that CAN be determined, well in advance of the need for the info. foot snares to drag logs can then be arranged, with the .22 rifle able to finish them off. Same thing for the heavy walled tubing that can foot snare a bear. Cache some of this stuff at your BOL and the cable, gill nets, trotlines, salt make up very compact, low cost stuff that lasts forever, and will be able to feed you, long term. but of course, you'd have to get off your dead ass and bury a few buckets at night. way beyond anyone's level of interest.

I never have looked on Dog's as food. Apparently you do. If I remember, and I do, you looked on people as food also. Especially young, tender Children.

I've never eaten dog, but have heard from several people that it's actually pretty good. If I were hungry enough, I'd absolutely eat dog; even my own dog if need be. I don't shoot them for ammo-testing purposes, though.

I would have to be real hungry to put a bullet in her head.

When I say I'd eat them, I don't say it lightly. I loved our dogs and I'd love a few minutes with whoever poisoned them. But if it made the difference between my wife or family going hungry, I'd absolutely do it. May be from growing up on a farm, can't say. But I believe we're at the top of the food chain on purpose.

I understand, but it would have to be life and death.

When I was in a DYS facility as a kid(just turned 14) I caught a little more time for " inappropriately responding to" one of my fellow residents who thought it great fun to set a beagle on fire with lighter fluid.....and brag about it.
I,OTOH;was endlessly amused by beating the $hit out of him when he wouldn't shut up about it,and then made some tough guy noises as I tried to walk away from him .
