wise people "like" things that perform well

dummies like things for their looks or some bs "advantage" that rarely proves out. The 308 has been proven so inferior for battle, much less guerrilla individual stuff, that EVERY major military has abandoned it for infantry use, even tho THEY have taxpayers to foot the bill, suppy chains, APC's and choppers to haul the too-heavy and too-bulky ammo around. :-) The big clunk has now been well proven to offer no range advantage over the 223 AR, and the penetration advantage only has meaning for belt-feds. The suppressed 223 has plenty of range and power. So why waste 10 lbs or more of carry effort/ability /fatique? Why be without the advantages of concealment and .22 conversion unit? cause your "little dick" problem makes you seek out "power"?

We get it. The intermediate-caliber gun is better for personal defensive use and general infantry use. I agree.

As I have both the AR platform that you do recommend, and bolt-action .308's that you hate, does that pronounce a diagnosis of "little dick syndrome" on me?

The "little dick" problem would seem to be more closely linked to aberrant behavior characterized by bragging about the unfettered shooting of small, non-game animals for sport, or making threats to attack water towers and other public utilities..

If a .223 makes you think you have a big dick, and a .308 makes you think you have a small dick, what would having no rifle at all make you? Stricken with penis envy?

I wonder where I fall in on this psychoanalytic continuum? I shoot 9x18,9x19,7.62x25,7.62x39 ;and 7.62x54R... I've been circumcised,but am still well hung... Am I a guy with both a large penis AND a deficit of self-opinion? Maybe a Rorschach Test would help. Either that or I could tell you all about the recurring dreams I experience...the ones where I'm carrying a cross,while being harries by two Filipina hookers dressed as Roman Centurions,in a chariot pulled by an ostrich down East Merrimack Street in Lowell Massachusetts....oh-wait a minute- that wasn't a dream,it was a Tuesday.... never mind-talk among yourselves :-)

Clearly I'm too much of a gun freak at heart. Reading "Rorshach", I initially pictured this -

- and wondered where you were going with the 'little dick' thing.

My bad...

who said it was "un-fettered" and who the fvck are you to "fetter" anybody, hmm? I made no such threats, just pointed out the fact that such a thing is easily done. That right there is proof that there's no real terrorist threat to the US. if there was, they'd just pay a few billion $ to a few Aussie or Canadian mercenaries and this place would be in tatters in a month. Somebody who can blend in and KNOWS what to do, as vs some dumbarsed camel jockeys.

If you can't see the value in being able to effectively fight Big Bro, then you are part of the problem in this society.

Melvin, you have already proven that you can't blend in! That's why you keep getting arrested. Anyone stupid enough to consider that the "bad guys" in the world are not intelligent and not dangerous is a very easy target. And finally Melvin, size does matter!!

Yet, a smaller problem than the non-contributing parasites who remain content to feed at the govt trough, while complaining about the bureaucrats who pour out their food, and insulting the productive ones who pay for the food.

From an economic perspective and a socio-generational perspective both, that's by far the bigger problem - the incessant growth of the dependent class.

Double-tap

{edit - in case I was too vague above, yes...John...I...am...talking...about...you. You've been parasiting off of the system for decades while fantasizing about "bringing down" the very system that feeds you. Clever approach; right up there with fleas and tapeworms conspiring to "bring down" the dog they're living off of.}
