It happens every national election to one degree or another, and every presidential election to a greater degree.

As bad as things seem, and as uncertain as the future (always) is, things are still better than they were in 2012-2013 though. Steel-case 223 stuff can be had for sub-$250 plus shipping. 22LR is stupid expensive right now, running $70-$100 per thousand. I can actually shoot my 9mm reloads now for less than rimfire stuff currently costs. With combined primer & powder costs of only $40 per thousand and bullets cast from mostly-free lead, that's the route that seems to make financial sense in current conditions. That's why the stocking-up I've been doing on primers and powder lately.

Well, not all online stores. I just ordered .223, 9MM, and .22 LR. No problem, yet.

I know; I was just trying to say it politely...

Fact is, in the last three months, I've picked up ~12k .22LR, 28 lbs of pistol powder, and 31k primers. But don't tell anyone... don't want to disillusion the Chicken Littles who have already forgotten what it was like just three years ago. Back when there really WAS nothing available at most places.

I've picked up 15,000 primers and 14 lbs of powder recently. This is the first time in 3 years we have seen pistol powder up here.

It's nice to have reserves, isn't it...
