I tend to like the Sportsmansguide.com to buy ammo because I often find great prices for ammo on their site, can order stuff on backorder at today's lower price and not be charged a price increase when it is finally sent out (they actually charged me more once but promptly refunded the difference when I contacted them), they usually have an excellent selection of ammunition, they stand behind what they sell (and will exchange or refund on ammunition sale if damaged), and they sell lots of other things I may need. Besides all that, you can usually do a bit better on price because there is almost always a 5 or $10 off coupon floating around for this place. Besides that I joined their Buyer's Club and get additional discounts, enough over the course of a year to more than pay for the Buyer's Club membership price. In addition, as far as other types of orders go, they have a money back guarantee that is basically forever, if I understand correctly, but you must have your invoice (so save it if you order from them). There are also other ammo sellers I like a lot. Natchez Shooters' Supplies recently allowed me to return ammo for an exchange (despite a no return policy on ammo) after I ordered the wrong thing due to a brain fart. They usually have a very good selection of ammo and other shooting supplies. I also have had good experiences with Ammoman.com and AmmunitionToGo.com. I do not like CheaperThanDirt.com all that much because they do not live up to their name unless dirt is much more expensive than I had thought it was. They are usually, or at least often, overpriced from what I can tell. Not a bad company though and I will go with them if I cannot get it elsewhere at a price lower than their price if I need it badly enough. I think though, my favorite has to be the SportsmansGuide.com. All the best, Glenn B |

I am addicted to Sportsmans guide. They have the best prices, and coupons to boot, plus they uisually have everything in stock. especially ammo.I get all of their catalogs and I'm afraid to say, usually buy something from all of them. The owner, Gary Olen(I met him once at an NRA convention years ago) seems to have a penchant for knowing what customers want. And he started the 24/7 ordering decades ago. I just love to order something at 10 minutes after three in the morning. And you/re right about Cheaper Than Dirt. When they started they were Cheaper Than Dirt. However, now I would say Higher Than S.... |

You gotta be kidding me! There were 27 views of this thread so far but only 1 person replied! (Thank you NRA UR2.) No wonder this forum is having trouble staying alive. Come on folks, out of 26 others who viewed this thread, at least a half dozen (and probably many more) of you must have bought ammo online already - so why not chime in, tell us who is your favorite online ammo dealer, and help keep The ArmsLocker alive!!! Besides that, it sure does not hurt to share good info about ammo dealers - does it???????? |

Wideners, Graf & sons, Ammoman....Won't buy from SG anymore due to their policies on whats a restricted item to my state -knives/pointy things.....plus a few times in the past, stuff from them had a way of showing up not anywhere as advertised.

Powder Valley and Midway generally cover my component needs. Ammoman can be good on occasion, but he rarely stocks anything I want; he kind of went the way of AIM Surplus or so it seems. Often some great deals, and they are often still stocked when others aren't: Ammunition To Go - http://www.ammunitiontogo.com Sometimes they have some loads I cant find elsewhere: G & R Tactical - http://www.gandrtactical.com/ Great source for current contract ammo and quality in-spec ammo: US Armorment - http://usarmorment.com/ |

I use Sportsman's Guide a lot, but I usually end up buying something else too! Since I buy C&R guns, J&G Sales and SOG sometimes send me "special" flyers with quite good deals on ammunition. If I recall correctly I bought a "Spam" can of 640 rounds of 7.62X39 MM, non-corrosive with a nifty can opener from J&G Sales this Spring. After figuring in shipping it came to about .03 a round cheaper than Sportsman's Guide, or $19.20. I got a hot shot flyer deal on 9MM too from SOG. It pay's to shop around, and check out the shipping! What looks like a great deal can bite you in the ass when you get screwed on shipping. Anybody EVER see a Colt SAA like this one?

I normally check Ammoman.com first for anything I am interested in. Went to a gun show this past weekend and was interested in getting some more CCI Stingers. Ouch! Price there was $8 per box of 50. I passed..... |

I've had good results with Cheaper than Dirt and Sportsman's Guide. Aim Surplus is pretty good too.

I've done a lot of business with Aim and have always had the best experiences with them. Every now and again I seem to get some good deals with Cabela's.

For components, I usually use midway, cowboyshootingstore, natchez or a couple others I don't recall offhand. Fwiw, right now, cheaperthandirt has one of my favorite 9mm loads in stock at a decent price - the Federal 9BPLE 115-grain +P+, for $17.49/50. A good .35-caliber bullet at a little over 1300fps from a G19; it doesn't know it's not a .357 mag load. It's second only to the Winchester RA9TA load imo when it comes to 9mm duty & defensive loads. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ItemD...px?sku=AMM-406 |

Lately, I sometimes have been getting better prices on ammo at Cheaper Than Dirt instead of Sportsmans Guide. Other times, I get much better prices at what I am assuming are smaller online ammo dealers. It sure seems to take 5 to 10 minutes to save $15 or $20 on an ammo order, at least it does to me. So I have been shopping around more and have come up with some other dealers that often have good prices, and have given me good service when I have ordered from them: http://militaryshooters.com/ http://www.sgammo.com/ http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/ Sometimes one is only about $5 less expensive than the others for total price of an order with shipping but you can bet I will use that one for that order. $5 saved can go toward my next ammo order. I am not giving up on Sportsmans Guide, I am still a club member there and they have lots of coupons on a frequent basis, usually $5 of orders of $50, $10 off orders of $100 (it may be $49 & $99) and $15 off orders of $150 or more. I just ordered 500 rounds of 9mm from them on which they had the best price and that was before I used the $15 off online coupon. It was a great deal. All the best, GB |

Yeah, I use Sportsman's Guide a lot, too. In the past I've, also, used Ammoman; but, I don't really prefer to deal with such, 'independent thinkers' who haven't the slightest idea what customer service really means.

Aimsurplus. If they have what you need, it's the lowest price and their shipping cost is really good.
