I rode beside yarborough, van and plane

on the way to his trial for killing the jewish radio announcer. That was 1986 or 87, I forget which. Feds had me on marshall's plane a lot for my first year or so.. He didn't really know much about guns at all.

Just had a lot of coincidental contact with high level prisoners while I was a fed. I was in spld when gotti, noriega and unibomber were there. Occasionally saw them being escorted to visits, etc. Why dont you go tear your clothes off and pull your hair out?

I spent some time in a hotel with Anna Nicole Smith. Yes, really.

I spent time with Jeff Cooper, the asshat.

I spent enough time with Jerry Ahern that he actually called me at home more than once.

I used to shoot regularly with John Dixon. Heck, John built one of the 1911's I still have to this day.

I've done force-on-force training with units ranging from US special forces and NNSA, to GIGN and GSG-9.

For a while in 2006, I was assigned to bodyguard for this lady:

Because I was large, imposing, even-tempered, and extremely dependable and trustworthy.

And you know what? Even the most recent of those things was a decade ago; and none of them matter at all in the real, grownup world.

A jackass white supremacist. IIRC, he killed a jewish radio announcer but was just planning to kill "a jew or a black", whichever possibility presented itself first; but I may be wrong on that.

Hated not remembering for sure, so I looked him up:

From: http://articles.chicagotribune.com/1...-lee-yarbrough

Quote:
…{he believed} His destiny was to die like a true Aryan warrior in a blazing gunbattle with the hated forces of the FBI. The notion appealed to him. He even dreamed about it. In his former life as a violent criminal he never believed in much but himself. Now his life had purpose. In fact, he said on the lazy spring afternoon, if the feds didn`t come soon, he might do something to speed up the process. Maybe kill a black or a Jew.

``I`d like to see the feds come after me. I`d fight to the death. I think the government will try to take me some day,`` he said. ``Then it`s time to start shooting. We plan to overthrow the government by force…
Sounds a lot like our own JMD, actually.

Quote:
Yarbrough pleaded guilty in February in a Boise Federal Court to 11 felony counts of illegally possessing firearms and explosives. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison…
Still sounds like JMD.

Quote:
On Oct. 18, 1984, after leaving the Aryan Nations fold and joining a splinter group called The Order, he engaged three FBI agents in a gunfight outside his home in Sandpoint, Idaho.
In his home they discovered a MAC 10 sub-machinegun used in the June 18, 1984, murder of Denver radio-talk-show host Alan Berg. Berg was Jewish.
Oh; he actually DID put up a fight. Not so much like JMD after all. My bad…

.. Gambino associate. Elderly, even he isn't sure of his actual age(he was born in Naples, either in 1916 or 1918). Some of you former/current Feds can look him up. He's currently doing time at an FMC on a probation violation.
Either way,he's a short timer now. FWIW,he is a stand up guy.
Other brushes with " celebrity"? I used to " go and get the money" for a few people in the music business, back when they were small time and getting stiffed by venues.
I have been in an airport terminal with Iggy Pop and Henry Rollins. An elevator with Exene Cervenka(old punk band "X"). Massa's Ayoub and a pair of VERY well regarded firearms/RKBA-civil rights attorneys in the Northeast.
Indian Larry out of New York and Brodie Daile (Distillers, another punk band;a great little lady).

And,when I was in pretrial lockup 2002-2003 in Worcester MA,that State Trooper from the Framingham Barracks that was robbing pharmacies for Oxycontin was put into A Block/AdSeg , because the Worcester County House of Corrections was 200℅ overcapacity that October and the inmates on the bus with me going in KNEW there was " a cop"... All they knew at the time was that he wasn't Black(he was Hispanic) ...so my Mediterranean appearance that often gets made as Mexican got some inquiries,as well as every other White or Brown guy Martin Chained in the van.

Too many bad guy's to remember all of them. In 23 years I met a bunch. I don't know why Melvin was moved around by Con-Air so much. Low level drug dealers are usually transported by bus or U.S. Marshall's van, A few I remember are Harry Aleman, a short statured hit man who worked for a Chicago crime family. Guilty of at least six murder's, word was double that. He used a shotgun and loaded his own shell's. Actually, a very personable guy. Scott Faul, a Gordon Kahl associate, found guilty of murder in the shootout that killed three Federal Agent's in South Dakota, I think. He was most likely guilty of nothing more than being there and holding a MAC -10 which he dropped and then ran at the first shot. No trouble as an Inmate, I felt sorry for him. Young Wife and children. Then their was the former Chairman of the House Way's and Means committee the Hon. Rostenkowski. Got caught with his hand in the till. A real jerk with an attitude. I really enjoyed making him pick up cigarette butts. Countless others.

Ever notice how most of the SERIOUS people were also SERIOUSLY low key and polite? Like my father is fond of saying " Empty boxes make the most noise'.

Quite true. Guy's that were really dangerous, and had proved it, mostly kept to themselves and did their own time. Not suck up's, but were decent to Officer's. I was always wary as hell escorting them, however.

Never hurts. As a contractor,I do something similar(I never saw THAT coming considering how hard I had to work to avoid incarceration myself)... There's people I regard as Ordinary Decent Criminals. I don't mind dealing with them, but I am equally wary. For some reason we ALSO get lots of Chomos....half an hour around THEM and I miss watching Esquina Del Diablo with some one legged cartel guy,or talking with a 98-100 year old Gambino soldier(who probably killed more people than cancer, but is scrupulous courteous) about the fight game in the 1930's and 1940's.
