what can u do in .30 sec, from 6 ft, knife?

that's all you've GOT after I tell you to drop it. .30 second, and you have to either THROW it, or TRY to take a step and slash/thrust with it. the latter is never going to get accomplished. .30 sec after I issue the challenge, I'm firing, so that IS all you'll get. The throw of the blade MIGHT work for you, as far as hitting me goes, but then I'm still going to kill you, Before I fall. The blade only has blood loss and psychological shock, not any physical shock to help stop. Basically, the knife is a SNEAK's weapon, has been ever since the invention of modern cartridges and repeating firearms.

Andy says, "Basically, the knife is a SNEAK's weapon."

Since when does fighting fair have anything to do with anything in a life or death situation. My Dad once asked me if I wanted an unfair advantage. I replied, "Yes" and he got a real strange expression on his face. Then he grinned and put his hand on my shoulder and said, "Good girl. You're learning."

Fair play is fine on the football or soccer field but will get you killed in a life or death fight. Somebody innocent and helpless looking will get close to you and gut you like a fish before you even know what happened.

If you are facing a well trained and skilled man you will probably feel the blade before you see it.

If you're fighting fair, you're not winning. . .

What's with this "1-2-3 go!" cr*p, anyway? Any jailbird should know that knife assaults are usually ambushes and often involve more than one person. As such, anyone who looks like they're even remotely ready gets a pass.

If true, there's no point in the challenge, unless it's to be on record as having told them to 'drop it'. No way he can hear, register, process, decide, and act on that challenge in a third of a second, so the warning has no functional merit.

True and I have no problem with that. So's a suppressed firearm, so was the old "Liberator" pistol, etc. Being sneaky is often worth more than being strong or fast; witness the women (and kids) of the French resistance in WW2.

Sneaky can be good.
