animals are 10x easier out of season

especially if you'll take females, the young, etc, (ya know, like real hunting) So by subscribing to normal hunting regs, what you are really doing is competing with other MEN, not the animal. The animals are easily taken, with baited snares. You just bait areas until you see signs of regular activity, then you set the snares and then it's worth checking your "line" daily, cause you'll have catches. It doesn't take more than 1-2 elk, one moose, a few deer and some small game and fish to provide your need for flesh food for a year. Half of your needs must be met with plant sources, anyway. So you need 700 lbs of fresh flesh food per year. The 2 elk, if they are adults, provide that much, right there. So does the one moose, if it's a large one. Each deer will provide 30-60 lbs of meat. Snaring 4 deer per year is nothing much. Neither is trapping scores of small critters, or netting hundreds of lbs of fish. Also, when you use NVD's, passive IR and luminous sights, it's not at all hard to score very frequently on game. They "think" that they are safe from humans at night.

so, if it's shtf, and there's no pressure from other men

feeding yourself will be easy enough. But there will BE pressure from other men, MASSIVE amounts of it. So you'd better bury a lot of food and you'd better be ready for lots of combat, or at least, almost complete avoidance of people, for many months. Anything else is just bs. Diseases will be running rampant again. typhus, typhoid, yellow fever, malaria, tetanus, diptheria, measles, whooping cough, loads of fun, lots of benefits from being around other people, whom will do whatever they want, bring into your group whomever they want.

Do you not find it ironic that you espouse the survival approach of being a predator that only moves at night, while posting a video showing how easy it is to dispatch night-moving predators...?
