and there's something to be said for .22 revolvers, using CB caps, for beginners, but I did not want her to be risking all that lowering and cocking of a hammer. She'll probably end up using a DA or glock of some sort for her teaching, but I want her to learn the cocked and locked SA autos first, so she can be competitive as soon as possible, and so manipulating a safety will become second nature for her. Then she can degrade her performance, later, by using those godawful DA and squishy trigger pulls. By the time she "moves on" to one of those pos's, she'll KNOW what she's doing.
