Define 'sidelines'.

I've done more shooting this month than you have this year.
I've done more construction work this year than you probably have this century.
I've contributed and donated more to my community in the past six months than you have in your entire life.
My business has paid more in taxes this week (over $8k) than you probably have in several years.
I've bought more ammo (5k rounds) this week than you have in how long..?
I saw my gainfully-employed, well-liked, sought-after-by-employers, semi-giant of a son get married yesterday to a young lady he's dated for nearly four years.

You on the other hand, have cashed government assistance checks, taken government-provided mind-altering drugs, and bragged on the internet about what you could do back when Jimmy Carter was president.

Clearly, you're the one living 'on the sidelines'. Why don't you join the grownups, get a job, and get in the game? After this many years of leaching off of taxpayers, you might actually find that some earned self-respect is kind of nice.

And for the umpteenth time, if you'd be civil, so would the grownups.

Done more REAL work, loaded more ammo, cleaned more guns, moved tons of ammo an components an lead, then moved it all back along with tools an machinery, an then did all the other stuff that comes with home ownership than you have done in the past 40 or 50 years. Taking tomorrow off to go shoot a little of the ammo up an enjoy the nice weather an be outside with friends. Will test two new 9mm Commanders, new an legally bought. What have you done lately?
By the way I also PAID my taxes.

Why do I get the distinct impression all is not well in Melvin and Wifey Land? By the way, Melvin, how is that plan to pay off some legislator to restore your gun rights working out for you?

Don't look at me. I'm at work, doing the whole" Custodial Hand-off with the Feds" thingy... I generally post or chime in when I've something to say, something to ask;or someone to heckle...and on THAT note: What DID trigger this little non sequitur?

What strikes me as sad (with a lot of folks, not just JMD) is the lack of understanding that internet forums themselves ARE the 'sidelines'. Forums are a place where people talk about things, debate things, and rehash things. Much like the literal sidelines of sporting event, sports bars, and the office water cooler on a Monday after a big game.

Life itself is "the game" and the more substantial a person's life is in the real world, the more blatant the distinction between "the game" and "the sidelines" are.

Now... back to the game for me. About to hit the road to see a customer more than two hours away.
