Ammo Prices About To Soar

Last time gasoline got this high in price, the cost of everything went up, including ammo. Ammo prices (and everything else) have never fully recovered even though gas was down for awhile. Now it appears prices are about to take off again what with gasoline as expensive as it is and with silver at an all time high and gold right up there too.

SG Ammo even gives a warning, on their homepage, about price increases coming within a couple to a few weeks.

Quote:
"04-17-2011 - Hello SGAmmo.com customers,

I consider it my duty to inform our customer base that significant price increases on various brands of ammunition will go into effect in the next few weeks, We will hold back on raising prices on certain items that are currently in good supply, however it appears inevitable that a broad line of commercial ammunition products will rise in price, so please consider that when evaluating your ammo needs. We will continue to search for special purchase items of better than average value and offer the best prices we can on our entire product line.

Thank you
SG
"
If you need it, now may be a good time to get it. Once a few more dealers post notices like that and once the prices do go up, ammo will disappear like maple syrup at a pancake eating contest.

All the best,
GB

high prices are more effective than gun control in slowing me down!

AGHHH!

Thank you for the warning. It's as good a reason as any to stock up. Time to stop dragging my feet and start RELOADING. That's becoming perfectly evident from going through the commercially avalible offerings in 44 RUS, SPC & MAG. (44 magnums) For any one who knows me around here yes I'll be asking the "throw me a bone I'm clueless" questions in a little while.

And where is that thread on online ammo...? Ah, here it is:favorite online ammo dealer?

Don't know about your area but we are down to $3.32 a gallon. Bulk ammo has been low priced lately.

One gunshop owner stated that they expect ammo prices to go up at least 20% by summer.

I've been wrong before, but gas prices are down here, and I don't see a big jump in an election year. Or am I cynical? Anyway, a good excuse to stock up.

I'm loading 13 calibers at this time (got components for 2 years shooting) and the only commercial purchase that will effect me is in .22LR & 12 gauge trap loads. That might help defer the pain.
