at the club in Litch

big George "herded" a chuck away from his hole. He yelled for me to come shoot it. He'd put his guns away already, or something, I don't recall. I put a 200 gr lrn .45 thru his chest, from 'the side, 4.5 grs of Bullseye, 750 fps. The chuck rolled over, got up again, I shot him again, same effect, had to brain him. I saw the same sort of thing, many times, with swc .45's, and many more with lrn 230 grs and ball ammo. The .45 just aint much, with standard, non expanding bullets.

yes, groundhog in the local vernacular. I got exactly the same performance with 90 gr jhp reloads in a 380. :-) Big bunch of nothing, basically, that a .22lr couldn't match. upset the hell out of me at the time.

What century was this great feat performed in? You have NO practical knowledge of cartridge performance other than what you read on the net. BS and more BS.

Average woodchuck is less than 20 lbs. Putting a .45 caliber hole 'thru the chest' of one is about like putting a billiard-ball size hole thru the chest of a man. And doing it twice; srsly? I really don't care if the billiard ball is going 700fps or 1700fps, if it goes clean thru you and out the other side it's gonna sting.

I suppose that you are aware that your use of a firearm may have been recorded on the club's security cameras..

Per Wikipedia: Felons are regarded by the federal government, and most US states, as being "prohibited persons" under US law (18 U.S.C. 922(g)). It is a class C felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison. This has been litigated before the Supreme Court. However, the Court upheld the regulation.[/I]

Semi-tame nothing... He's superbad. Put two .45's thru my chest and I'm likely to quit fighting.

That little rodent must be Woodchuck Norris.

you dont know much about .45 lrn at 750 fps, obviously. it aint worth a hoot and neither is .45 ball. This occurred 35 years ago, the club had no security cams. They've have shown me doing MUCH more egregious things if they had. :-)

Your stating that something that happened 35 years ago is relevant? How?

Because it's another "I killed an animal with a normal bullet, and the bullet sucked" story.

yeah, if you have to shoot them twice in the chest and then, later, in the head to have the desired effect, the bullet sucked. What's wrong with that evaluation?

I'm working under the assumption that your "desired effect" was to kill the woodchuck. You claim that:

- a .45 caliber bullet thru-&-thru on a woodchuck didn't have the desired effect, and that

- a .22 rimfire hit on the torso of a person post-shtf spells certain doom for them.

And you seemingly do it completely seriously; not considering how inconsistent it is, or how incompatible those two claims are.

And if your "desired effect" wasn't to kill it, but was actually hopes of an instant one-shot stop, you'd have to praise the .44 in the other thread.

At least if you wanted to be intellectually honest, you would.

I wouldn't use Melvin and honest in the same context.
