I"ve taken 2 rabbits with primer only .45's

one with a wax bullet and one with soap! Both shots to the head, from about 3 ft away. the soap one was thru a knothole in a board fence. the wax one was by peeking around the corner of a concrete building. Both hits made them turn handstands. I had to run down the soap-hit one, neighbor got ALL upset about it. For the wax hit, the rabbit jumped around, but I pulled it's head off quickly. When I stepped back around the corner, showing my buddy the headless rabbit, he said "did that wax load do THAT?" :-)I missed a big chance to REALLy upgrade the "legend" of the .45's power. :-)

was it you? I don't recall ever taking you to my place in Chatham. That COULD have been really bad news, if that old harpy had sicced the cops on me. I'd done a few things for her, tho, so she let it slide.

remember the RR cars full of molasses and all the dead bees? I remember trying to use that damned Alice pack, with no frame or padding. that sucked.

I thought it was corn syrup from Staleys, sure was a mess, took a long time to clean that up an rebuild the trestle. Can't remember how many cars it was but RR was lucky the engines did not go off. Now days they would still be suing the RR for water pollution. Somewhere I have pics of that wreck.

might have been syrup. I got inside one of the cars, and it was several inches deep in bee bodies. bet the beekeepers around there took a big hit on that one.

No way to get equipment down there, had to rebuild trestle an lift cut up cars with a crane, think it took the whole summer to remove all of it. Used to walk from Marks every night after work an watch, knew some of the guys doing job. Had to shunt trains around Springfield for a long time. Cranes had to come from Virden an North from Havanna. Have not been on that part of the river since Mark moved to KC, Long time ago! Still see his brothers Lance an Danny now an then.
One night going to Godfrey along Route 67 in his Volvo, a truck lost a load of pipe in front of us, any other car we would have been killed, pipe bouncing everywhere, he did one hell of a job missing them. State Police could not believe there was not a mark on that car.

good for him. He got involved with a gal from AC and R and she took him for a helluva ride, IIRC.. aint Havana north of spld? so they'd have been bringing the cranes south, correct?
